FORMAT: Probably Paragraph? Whatever works. The Lanterns appeared shortly after sunset, formless, faceless men draped in black cloaks moving along the streets of the city, large poles resting on their shoulders with softly glowing lanterns dangling from the end, swinging back and forth as they walked. Wherever they went, the local spirits emerged to follow, in packs of twos and threes, all twisting about the city until they arrived at their destination, Central Park.
There, filling up the empty spaces between the trees, was a circus far larger than should ever have been able to reside inside the park. Hundreds of yellow and red striped tents were scattered about, with crowds of spirits moving between them, hurrying from one tent to the next to catch the shows. Each tent was dotted with a sign, vague, nonsepecific for the largest tents: 'WHERE WE LEFT THE KEYS' one said, 'THIRD GRADE MATH' blazed another. The smaller ones were more intimate, more specific. "Her Favorite Childhood Song' one read, 'The Last Night' another read. Thousands of them, of all sorts of sizes.
A large man, a skeleton, wearing a mask to make him look human, stood at a podium just inside the park, calling out to the spirits to hurry and come and watch. "Only the Finest Forgotten Memories!" He shouts, waving his baton in the air. "One Week Only, Don't Delay! Come and See!" He words, twisted the way only words spoken started with capital letters could be, echoed off the sign above his head: HUMANLAND!!
