All efforts were still unsuccessful. He had been in this City for a while now. Since meditation was a good escape from his surroundings, the fact was he was still in a confined space became the harsh reality he was faced with every time he opened his eyes. The contact between nature and spirit was really starting to fade, thanks to thin apartment walls, neutrally colored carpeting, and the noise from the street. There was a vast difference between birds chirping and the wind gently passing through the leaves of a tree and loud traffic and gunshots outside.

How were people even able to think here?

He didn't wear civilian clothes often, but he was tired of the attention his eccentric cape drew. It was a quick errand, not a fight nor training. He didn't need his cape. The turban though? That was staying. Until he could find something else to cover the antennae. Not that the green skin and freakish tallness wasn't enough to make someone look twice.

"No, not from what I remember." And what he remembers is primarily what he remembers from Nail's memories.

"Well, how fortunate for you, then, that of your three they would each be so mild as to be tolerated. We only had the one, but it burned with such intensity as to convince all of my fellows to avoid it entirely." Being the only one of your species whose not only capable of withstanding it, but actually rather fond of its light as well, can be a terribly lonely place, really.

"All that from one sun?" He showed a slight interest. "...Clearly you don't have the same reaction to the sun here."

She let lose a slight laugh. "Oh, it never bothered me personally, I was always quite fond of it! Though trying to convince any of them of the mildness of your own sun has been quite the chore, they're all so stubbornly nocturnal."

"I can't say I know the type." And he didn't. Piccolo didn't know people to be shut-ins. Even when Gohan had to stay home to study, the kid always found his way outside.

"If your kind comes from a planet with three suns, I doubt they would avoid them so often!" Though it may have been possible without living on his native world. "So, where is it that you spent the majority of your life, if not there?"

"Earth." He answered simply.

"Ah, curious." Finished with the upper body measurements, she moved down to his waist. "It's been pleasant enough in my year here, aside from the times when it hasn't been. Have the nights bothered you at all, given the typical lack of exposure your biology might have otherwise had?"

"I grew up on Earth, so any changes I might've experience I adapted out of it." He explained. In his youth he didn't have any physical problems. Of course, being driven by revenge since he hatched probably would've pushed him to ignore any if they existed. All he knew was as an adult, it wasn't a problem.

That answer was a little dull, but she didn't say so. Trying to get him to talk on his own was proving to be a chore, she had to keep prodding to keep him going, like a wind-up toy when you were hoping for something more battery-powered. "It must have been nice. Earth does have its way of being notably not unpleasant at times."

"Yeah, it's a real ball." It wasn't anything personal- Piccolo wasn't that great of a conversationalist unless the conversation gravitated around fighting or something similar to the fact. "...Are you done?"

"Nearly." She rolled her tape back up as she looked over her notes. "If you have any colors you especially favor, now would be the best time to share them." Of course, they could easily be vetoed if they weren't on her list of 'colors that work with green', which, given the position of her particular caste, tended to have more thought given to it than any other color.

"I'll also need to see what I'll be working with underneath that turban."

"Would it really make that much of a difference?" The girl was so pushy he figured if he told her a color it wouldn't even matter. "Purple." He responds, nonchalantly.

Never being too incredibly self-conscious about his antennae he removed the turban- and they made their appearance.

Green and purple. Villain colors. Green and white...also villain colors, but more specific an association. She made note of it.

Now, she was tall for her age, but he was a great deal taller, so she had to look up to get a better look at his antennae. "Curious that you could fit them underneath the headwear. They seem to lack any kind of solidity. Not chitinous like horns whatsoever!"

"Well, no." Piccolo looked at her curiously. "Why would they be?"

She idly ran a hand through her hair, but there wasn't anything up there at the moment. "I've lost hats before due to my native form asserting itself while I attempted such an accessory. Yours don't appear to interfere with any sort of headwear, but may be much easier to work with."

"Native form?" Now that was curious. Apparently she had horns. He waved the question off, seeing as how he really didn't care. "No. The antennae don't get in the way."

She closed her notepad, having everything she needed, and folded her arms while tapping it to her chin. She'll take the question anyway. "Well, of course. You hadn't let my appearance lead you to mistake me for a human, had you?"

"I assumed you couldn't be." He eyed her a moment. "Though you're about as invasive as any human I've ever known."

Invasive? God, why did everyone always complain whenever she may try to extend her assistance? "I'm only doing what is necessary to help."

"If you say so." Piccolo grunted, crossing his arms over his chest.

She mirrored the gesture herself. "Nonetheless, I've finished the part that requires your contribution, until the outfit is completed. I can return you to the point where we met initially, or convey you to whatever destination you may have originally intended."

"Where you took me from is fine." He nodded, putting his turban back on.

With hesitation, he went on. "Even though I didn't ask for it... I suppose I should thank you, Kanaya."

She scoffed with a smile as she reeled in a new portal to that earlier location. "I suppose it would only be polite if you did! But you can withhold your gratitude until the ensemble is complete, if you would prefer. Results are far easier to meet gladly than a hypothetical."
