we're low in our hearts we're low in our heads
WHO: Monet and open!
WHERE: X-Factor, City Hall, the skies, shopping
WHEN: 7/27-8/3
WARNINGS: none.
SUMMARY: Monet got ported back in and now she's taking care of business.
FORMAT: Paragraph set-up, but anything goes.
Rictor and Shatterstar both gone was frustrating, at best. Rictor was going to get an earful when he returned for leaving her with the paperwork again. (Maybe she could delegate it to someone else. She did have a team, they had to be good for something. Besides just solving mysteries, that was.)
She didn't make X-Factor her first stop, spending some time flying around the City first instead in dissatisfaction, but eventually she did make her way there and start to sort things out. It wasn't a complete shambles, at least. She hadn't picked a completely incompetent team. Still, there were things to deal with there and liaisoning with City Hall that needed to be done, and though she put it off and did a fair amount of delegating, she was still in the office fairly frequently over the next week.
[ ooc: if none of those options work for you, feel free to stumble upon her working on a case or lurking around somewhere. ]

So, today he was sprinting and jumping across the rooftops in the city, trying to clear his head. That is, until he happens to spot Monet flying somewhere nearby. He was going to leave her be, but he sees her look of frustration and decides to speak up. "It seems as if--" And he stops mid-sentence for a moment so he can jump to the next roof. "--you have a lot on your mind!"

"Too much paperwork for my tastes," she says lightly, dropping from her higher up position slightly to hover nearby. "I didn't realize you'd arrived." Due mostly to the fact that she rarely checked the network.

"Well I have yet to be here for more than a week. So it's not too surprising." Sure he had made an entry a day or so ago, but really it was just one. And probably very easy to miss with the amount of people in this place. "Not to sound rude but I... haven't really met you where I am from. At least not yet. Are we friends in your world?"
no subject
At his question, she lifted her shoulders a little, elegant and unconcerned. "Not particularly. I've heard of you, though."
no subject
"Apparently so have a lot of others. Am I married to Ororo where you come from too?"
no subject
"As a matter of fact, you are." Curiosity wasn't high on her list of downfalls (it didn't appear at all, actually, given that the list was empty), but still. "Have you been discussing universe and timeline differences, then?"
no subject
"I have been discussing them since the first few days of my arrival." Admittedly, Reed Richards is probably much better at it than he is, but eh. From the looks of things the Reed Richards that is here is much younger than the one from his world. He's not sure how his intellect measures up. Which might be why he hasn't built some kind of crazy dimension hopping machine. As far as he knows. "It's all rather strange being able to experience dimensional theories first hand." And it's all still kind of hard to swallow. "Do you know if there has ever been cases of the same person appearing from two different dimension?"
no subject
"It's a subject most people find interesting upon their arrival, despite our universe's long experience with alternate dimensions. Though perhaps your dimension has not had that experience?"
She pauses and thinks back for a moment before shrugging. "I'm not aware of any, no. But I've hardly looked over the network thoroughly. I left that to others."
no subject
"I've yet to experience any of it first hand, no. Though I wouldn't doubt if others in my world have." With super powered mutants and all of that running around, time travel or dimension hopping doesn't seem too unlikely.
"Communication through the devices does give an... impersonal feel. If I have a choice, I do prefer to meet in person." Though from what he usually gathers, it's the best way to speak to a wide variety of people at once. And most people use it, so he's been kind of forced to use it himself.
no subject
"I can't be bothered with them. Too many people complaining about their lives, as if they expect us all to care." A casual shrug. The subject doesn't concern her much one way or another. "I check occasionally, but for the most part there is nothing worth seeing there."

A habit to kick, a madman to condemn. A death penalty to consider. Very pressing matters.
The sound of his pen trapping against his desk broke the otherwise thick silence of his domain. He waited for a specialized report to come, the sort of data with numbers crucial to refining his next proposal for Mitchell.

She knocked on the door briefly and followed it in without much more preamble, confident and calm, holding the report up in one hand. "I believe you wanted to see this, Mr. Nygma?"
no subject
"I assume it wasn't too much trouble for you? I can't say every individual manages information well, and I'm always on the lookout for more steadfast channels."
no subject
"Oui, ça va. It was no difficulty at all, my team is very dedicated." Her team was very very new and needed the good will of City Hall, as much as the concept of needing anything might grate on her. "And I manage information very well."
no subject
"You've must have rose quickly, to have already amassed a team. And to think, we haven't even been properly introduced."
no subject
She remained seated, but her eyes followed his movements. Interested, calculating to a certain extent.
"I already had a nucleus to start with, and it would seem that we have a wide variety of Imports with experience in our area." She paused. "Monet St. Croix. It's a pleasure."
