(it is absolutely not common that you end up in the future for your birthday. in fact, despite the discrepancy with his own age back home, cross was actually milking this for all it was worth. when he found out that people actually give you free stuff. a little charm here and a little flirting there, he's got so much free stuff that he doesn't know what to do with it.

what's more, at the moment he's just too excited to spend his birthday not wondering if someone at a party is going to try and kill him. so, throwing caution to the wind, just let the party begin! he's in various locations doing various things.)

(he isn't a big eater, but damned if that doesn't smell good. but, alas, if he ate food that would leave less room in his stomach for alcohol. decisions, decisions.)

[entirely not deterred over here. Only, it's hard to take care of his kitchen and mingle, at least until he can get enough going that he can come out and circulate with plates and tell the other random people "yes, this is my boat. Why yes I did just cook that. Why thank you for the compliments miss I would be happy to give you the recipe..."]

(well, while he's doing that cross can get a moment to himself and sit on the roof. people were starting to annoy him anyway.)

[eventually - not right away, no - there's a pair of nice loafers walking towards him on the roof-deck. And then a plate of food set down next to him]

(so much for a private reprieve. cross hands over the bottle of romanee conti wine that he's treating like rum.)

[inspecting the wine, sniffing...approving. He only takes a small sip, though, mainly to taste, and hands the bottle back]

You do know how to pick 'em. I'll give you that much. Too many boyfriends being brought along for the ride, though.

(he stares at the bottle and at sanji's mouth before back to the bottle again and just shoving it in his hands.)

That is disgusting. (but at the boyfriends, cross just shrugs.) Got nothing in common with these people.
