There was nothing quite like a night on the town. The bright lights on the streets so far below, the wind through her hair as she swung between buildings, the sounds of late-night-early-morning traffic , and the ocassional girly screams of would-be muggers having their arms twisted by a chick in a black and purple cape.

Yes, this was the life. One of them, anyway.

The "twerp". [ Well, that felt odd to say in uniform. ] He's harmless.

[ When he's not running around with katanas and his emotions unchecked. ]

I don't know, have you seen his knives? [ And has he ever threatened to stab you, because he totally means it. You can see it in his mean little eyes. ]

He's mostly bark and no bite. Well, some bite, I have to give it to him. [ He did unmask her successfully. Kid was good, as much as she disapproved of it. ]

Admittedly I have yet to be actually stabbed. [ But she can see him thinking about it. See him. ]

It doesn't really make him any more likeable.

[ She makes a mental note of that; so Damian is violent with everyone else in the "family". What a bag of sunshine that kid is. ]

Good thing we don't do family reunions.

The boys would all just kill each other anyway. [ Damian vs. Jason vs. Tim, battle to the death. ]

Personally, I think we could use more girls.

[ Her thoughts strayed to the other Batwoman for a brief moment. As long as that one didn't betray or tarnish what that Bat symbol represented, Kate had no reason to unmask or shut her down.

But now she wondered, was that just another girl underneath the mask or a woman like her? She didn't enjoy not having an answer to that. ]

Worse things have happened. [ She shrugs, totally unashamed. People can complain all they like but being brought here isn't even close to the end of the world. ]

Did you meet the girl Robin, before she disappeared? A girl after my own heart. [ And they barely even got to talk, such a shame. ]

I was more familiar with Redbird than her previous mantle. [ Again, she didn't know what caused a change in threads and why she and Dick were tense around each other, but she didn't go prodding into their business.

They stayed out of hers and she did the same for them. ]

Me too, but I thought that was cool. There haven't been a lot of girl Robins.

They get smaller each time. [ To be honest, she didn't like the idea of emotionally unstable kids on the field. ] There's a whole multiverse out there, anyway.

Of course, practically all the kids and ladies are smaller in comparison to the 5'10" Kate and with an extra inch or two thanks to those boots... ]

Hey, it's not my fault I'm short. [ She isn't really, at 5'4", but damn if she doesn't feel short next to Batwoman. ]

[ Wow, this one really could talk. Kate's not used to someone being this chatty -- especially a fellow Bat. ]

Supermodel. [ Even if Steph couldn't see it, it might have been obvious Kate had arched a high eyebrow. ] That's a first.
