There was nothing quite like a night on the town. The bright lights on the streets so far below, the wind through her hair as she swung between buildings, the sounds of late-night-early-morning traffic , and the ocassional girly screams of would-be muggers having their arms twisted by a chick in a black and purple cape.

Yes, this was the life. One of them, anyway.

[ Batgirl just stares for a moment. That's pretty damn impressive. But they don't have a whole lot of time. The smoke is clearing and the remaining gangsters are too angry to be scared. ]

I wouldn't say no!

[ She turns her attention quickly back to the fight, as a couple of enterprising young idiots have pulled out switchblades. She knocks one out of a boy's hand with a sharp kick, another with an elbow to the shoulder. They're not very good at this, really, they just have numbers on their side. ]

[Her graying hair might lull some of the kids into a sense of false security, but Lin is surprisingly quick on her feet. She spins toward a cluster of them and waves her hand in front of her. A large metal dumpster slides around and pins them to the wall.]

You masked people sure know how to get into trouble.

[Though the bat-eared girl seems to be holding her own quite easily, and she can't say that she wouldn't have tried to take them on alone either.]

It's a gift. [ She knocks the heads of the two now scrambling for their knives together. They won't be getting up any time soon. A third catches her on the arm, ripping her suit a little but not much more. She grabs him by the wrist and flips him over on his back, where he stays, gasping for breath. ]

I don't suppose anybody's called the cops yet?

No need. It really is your lucky day.

[Apparently one thug brought a shotgun to the fight, which he levels at the two crimefighters. Lin shoves her fist at him, causing the barrel to bend upward right as he pulls the trigger. An explosion of black powder in his face sends him tumbling to the ground.]

Nice trick.

[ Just a few left, and sure enough one of them was smart enough to pick up one of the fallen knives. Batgirl sends a batarang flying into his wrist, which seems to convince him that it's time to call it a night. ]

Were you planning on putting all of these guys in the back of the same car?

[ She goes after him, using her grapnel gun to give her the height and then knocking him onto the ground with both feet. She ties his hands behind his back with a bit of wire. ]

I don't even have a car. I'll call in backup.

[What she wouldn't give for a good police blimp. Since they've managed to subdue pretty much all of the attackers, she'll busy herself with tying their hands and feet with cables, and glancing at her costumed friend out of the corner of her eye.]

Can't say I've ever seen a purple wolfbat.

Plain black and yellow just isn't my style.

[ Or something like that. Purple is a good color for her, she would say. She starts to help, going around to the guys furthest from Lin and tying them up first. ]

Can't say I'm a fan of the costume, but at least you seem to know what you're doing.

[Lin will have to tell Toph to have her institutionalized if she ever starts dressing up as an animal. But anyway, a few of the thugs try to struggle, and Lin responds by roughly cuffing them.]

[ She beams for a moment - it's one of those rare moments of praise that she has to treasure - and proceeds to kick a guy in the gut when he looks like he's going to get up. ]

It's actually shockproof, and padded for impact. [ So hey it's functional. ] Jusso you know.

Hm. I could use that.

[Given the amount of times she's been electrocuted now, it'd be a welcome change to wear something that didn't cause her to light up like a street lamp.]

Just without the ears. No offense.

None taken. It's a Thing. [ Which Lin obviously knows by now, but it's worth noting.

She looks around to make sure everyone's all tied up. ]

Can you handle these guys? We don't usually hang around after the cops show up.

Yeah. Just don't pick any more fights with entire gangs. I might not be around next time.

[She flips out her communicator to start calling in backup. This whole 'vigilantes sanctioned by the police' thing was still taking some getting used to.]

Sure, next time I'll let them all kill each other. [ She shrugs as though she means it. She could have called for backup anyway, but there was no way she was going to let that many people get killed when she could do something about it. ]
