SUMMARY: Max Lord introduces the newest member of the Avengers to the team: Black Panther! Everyone, get to know each other, this is for mingling of all sorts.
FORMAT: Quick.


[ It's not exactly a meeting; they can discuss pertinent issues (as always, Max has a whole agenda of topics to bring to the table) another time, because today, what Max wants to talk to the Avengers about is short and sweet. It's something to celebrate! Within their brand new Headquarters Max Lord stood in a brown suit and a checkered tie, a table laid out with food and drinks running the length of the wall to his side. ]

Now, I know we have a lot of Avengers business to discuss, especially since some of us were gone for most of the month. But that's not what we're here today for. But of course if you want to talk shop later I won't stop you.

I'd like to present you all with the newest addition to our team: please welcome Black Panther to the Avengers. I think we can all agree we had a few [ Er. ] holes to fill... and this is our guy. In fact, I think a few of you know each other already.

Yes. There's the fiasco at the UN that we need to make a statement on. [ He raises his eyebrow. ] We need at least one media spot to remind the public who's protecting them.

[liverletdie]

Agreed, and agreed. As long as it doesn't get too cheesy. Media spots are a little tough to get right.

[retconman]

I can handle it if you're worried about that. I've certainly got the formula down.

[liverletdie]

I never had any doubt, Mr. Lord. I'll admit while I know how to deal with the press, some parts of PR I leave to the experts. I couldn't make a commercial to save my life.

[retconman]

I can do all the talking. [ He exhales a little smoke, furrowing his eyebrows thoughtfully. ] I'll just need an Avenger or two to stand next to me and look heroic. I can talk the talk, but I'm not the one flying into battle.

[liverletdie]

Well, if you want me for something like that, I'd be more than happy to help. I could even stay silent for a few moments.

[retconman]

Great. I should really hope so.

Who else, do you think? I need someone flanking my other side.

[liverletdie]

Hm. One of our female members, maybe? Black Widow? [ He considered for another moment or so. ] We do look good together on camera.

[retconman]

Hmmmm. [ He nods. ] All right. I'll talk to her.

[liverletdie]

Just don't tell her I said that, I might be in trouble. [ His voice slipped into a mock conspiratorial whisper. ] You know how it goes.

[retconman]

[ Max smirks. ]

I think I can imagine, yes. I won't tell on you.

[liverletdie]

Oh good, I was hoping I could trust you with that. Well, I'll let you enjoy the rest of the party. Just let me know when we can shoot this, and I'll clear my schedule.
