SUMMARY: Max Lord introduces the newest member of the Avengers to the team: Black Panther! Everyone, get to know each other, this is for mingling of all sorts.
FORMAT: Quick.


[ It's not exactly a meeting; they can discuss pertinent issues (as always, Max has a whole agenda of topics to bring to the table) another time, because today, what Max wants to talk to the Avengers about is short and sweet. It's something to celebrate! Within their brand new Headquarters Max Lord stood in a brown suit and a checkered tie, a table laid out with food and drinks running the length of the wall to his side. ]

Now, I know we have a lot of Avengers business to discuss, especially since some of us were gone for most of the month. But that's not what we're here today for. But of course if you want to talk shop later I won't stop you.

I'd like to present you all with the newest addition to our team: please welcome Black Panther to the Avengers. I think we can all agree we had a few [ Er. ] holes to fill... and this is our guy. In fact, I think a few of you know each other already.

( I put up a few working subthreads but feel free to make your own! This is for mingling and working out fun team dynamics, do and talk about absolutely whatever you want to. c: )

[ If anyone wants to have any conversations directly following Max's introduction! For his part he'll be, you know, just there. Probably lighting a cigar once he's done talking. ]

Fffff. I just realized that this was just in time for The Avengers to launch. Aww yeah!

[He was having a few second thoughts about this whole thing. It made him uneasy that so many people know of him, but he hardly knew anyone in this place on a personal level. Just on the news or in the papers mostly. The slanted gaze through his mask is probably enough to declare his uneasiness about all this. But he speaks.]

I doubt that there is much I need to say. From what I have heard, it seems that I am quite popular in several other worlds.

In a manner of speaking.

[Bobbi gives him a friendly smirk to welcome him, though she's unsure whether or not it's appropriate to shake hands with a monarch or not. Is she supposed to bow? How does this even work. Whatever, she'll just smile and look welcoming.]

Welcome aboard, BP.

_{( Clint liked T'challa, most of the time. Or at least he didn't hate him, which was a big deal for him. But he was never quite sure how to deal with universe discrepancies. Now, however, there was no getting around it, so he approached with a wry grin. )}

Well, I wouldn't go that far.

Popularity is good. That probably means you'll all get along just fine. [ Smiles in his reassuring car salesman-type way. ] You be sure to let me know if you need anything. That's what I'm here for.

[Spidey gives him a little wave from where he's perched on the wall, coffee in hand.] Good to have you with us, your Majesty.

[Hank comes by and slaps him on the back.] Well, Wakanda has always been prominent in the international community, isolated as it may often be.

FOOD / DRINK

[ Max actually spent the money to have this thing catered. Mostly lunchtime-type foods. Also, there's liquor, but also there's juice and soda of the Pepsi-brand variety. Eat, drink, and just generally mingle. ]

[Natasha is sort of scowling at the trays of food, she can be very picky when she has the luxury of choice. Her hand is wrapped around a plastic cup of water. She holds it like it's delicate.]

_{( Clint has no such reservations, and has been munching since arriving. It's a good way to avoid doing other things. Now, however, he gives Natasha flat look. )}

What, do you have a problem with food, now?

[ After Max settles down with a soda of his own (he doesn't do liquor well, but he thought the option would be safest) he drifts around a bit. ]

Looking for anything in particular?

[Bobbi has a small plate that she is filling with different types of cheeses and crackers. She's not discriminating at all when it comes to sampling one of each offering. As she plucks up yet another cube of cheese, she gives Natasha a playful wink.]

Looks like some good eats, huh?

I may be mistaken, but I believe all the food being offered here is free. [You know. Since you kinda just staring at it.]

[Hank pours himself a glass of bourbon and takes a few finger sandwiches. They are actually about as big as his fingers.] Feeling indecisive?

_{( Clint spends most of the time leaning against a wall with his arms crossed over his chest, observing with an obviously critical eye. The fact that he chooses to stand near the refreshments is no accident--but be warned, he is eating those finger sandwiches with obvious irritation. Part of him is glad they're all together in one place, and another, larger part hates the business atmosphere. It's never a good sign. )}

[ Before Max walks over to Clint he considers Hank's advice for dealing with him, mostly which involved don't wear a tie he hates authority. Instead, Max just does up his coat a bit more to hide it some. Which just seems ridiculous, but whatever. ]

Hawkeye. Enjoying yourself so far?

[Bobbi moseys up to him with two cups of Diet Pepsi and offers him one with a small smile. She knows he isn't keen on this sort of thing, but it's all necessary. At least she can make it a bit more pleasant.]

Still hanging in there, sport?

Man, what did those sandwiches ever do to you? [That said, he steals one right from under Clint's hand and pops it into his mouth.]

[ Max sticks to pepsi, considering a sandwich briefly before he decides against it. May as well leave the food for everyone else. ]

[Food is food and free is free -- since Max seems to have arranged the catering with superpowered metabolisms in mind, Spidey has no qualms about filling up.]

BUSINESS

[ Do you want to get some short business-talk in before the party ends? Well, why not. Max, for one, is there for all your PR/financial/organizational needs. And you know, there's always a lot to discuss amongst yourselves about what the Avengers should be focusing on now. ]

[ Who wants to talk business? Tony Stark wants to talk business. Who's surprised? Nobody. Workaholic, thy name is Tony Stark, and thy name means that he enjoys talking business. Mostly finances, but he'll be persuaded to mention things like the plot for the rest of the building, or if you really want to get things started, mention Vulcanus. Not that he's devoting 60% of his attention toward that particular problem at this very moment.

For the most of the meeting, he's been perfectly satisfied to sit in the very large, very heavy metal suit. If only to test the construction of the floor. He doesn't trust the contractors to do it right until he's managed to test it for himself in his several hundred pound armor, but he at least has the courtesy to traipse around with his helmet off for once. ]

[superspeeds]

[Quicksilver's uniform has been updated just a little since the last time anyone here has probably seen it. There are now black panels around the shoulders and he's lost the gloves, but overall, not all that much has change. And quite regardless, it wouldn't be anywhere near as... Abrasive as the Iron Man armor, anyway. For much of the meeting, Pietro has been decidedly, purposefully pleasant. He actually does like the Avengers, and likes that they're finally at least trying to act as a team. It's different, it's familiar. It's nice. And when he spots Tony looking like he's ready to talk shop, Pietro is all for it.

He darts over, taking a nearby seat and making himself comfortable likely before anyone human would have the chance to notice. He watches Tony for what seems like an acceptable amount of time to him, but is probably slightly abrupt to everyone else.]

You clearly have something on your mind, my friend. Would you care to share it with the rest of the class?

[ Max smiles and tips his cigar in Tony's direction, walking over. ]

How've things been here on the homefront?

[retconman]

[ When things wind down Max moves toward the window, lighting another cigar and checking his watch. His mind is preoccupied with what he should push the Avengers toward next; media presence, of course, but would they do better fighting some monsters on TV first or reaching out to the City? And what about new costumes? He has a lot of catching up ahead of him. ]
