you have a way of moving me
WHO: ELECTRO, MAX GIBSON, and APRIL LUDGATE
WHERE: Outside/around City Hall ➟ maybe April & Max's place? WE'LL SEE.
WHEN: Thursday afternoon/evening let's say.
WARNINGS: Massive amounts of awkward.
SUMMARY: The boyfriend meets the roommate. They are both named Max.
FORMAT: Whatever!
Adjusting to the whole thing took was taking him a little while, but one good thing about Electro's age was that he had enough experience with relationships -- however short-lived most of them had been -- to remember what differently to do than with more casual affairs. April so far hadn't been exactly high-maintenance, so that helped matters some. Still, waiting around outside City Hall for her to get off work some days still felt weird and unsettling to him, in part because he was so out of routine of having someone to wait for and in part because usually when he was at City Hall, he was smashing things or shorting them out.
But then, it wasn't as if he'd hadn't gotten used to playing nicer lately anyway. At least he was getting good use out of his new motorcycle.

[ Er. Yes, this is slightly awkward. But not devastatingly so (for him, at least). ]
Just hold on, this thing goes pretty fast.
[ Because he can supe it up with his powers. 8| ]
no subject
I can handle fast. I like it, actually.
[ The faster the better, really. ]
no subject
[ He smirks; sorry, Max, he doesn't have a helmet for you or anything but he's a decent driver. And they're off! ]
What do you do at City Hall anyway?
no subject
I work on import native relations! Try to keep them liking us.
no subject
How's that working for you?
no subject
[ This long pause, because there is literally nothing she can say here that isn't either a really really obvious lie or not so great. ]
Kind of shitty!
no subject
Talk about gruntwork. You could be doing that job for years and still make no progress, they're always going to hate us here!
no subject
[ Or she wouldn't have this job, really. She has to think it's bullshit. ]
There's progress being made.
no subject
[ He turns sharply. ]
They're not going to like us until we play nice just the way they want us.
no subject
[ Her voice heavy with sarcasm where the wind doesn't catch it away, and she does her best to keep her balance without holding on to him any closer. ]
no subject
[ The disdain is heavy in his voice, but it's not particularly vehement. By now he's pretty tired of it all. ]
no subject
I think that's exaggerating.
no subject
[ They're about 7-10 minutes away from April's now. I guess. HOW DO TIME/DISTANCE whatever!! Yeahhh. ]
no subject
Things are getting better here, though.

[ And I guess they're there now! So he pulls up and kills the motor. ]

People like people who help them more, it's pretty common. Thanks for the ride. I'm going to start coffee, if you want some?
no subject
[ He makes sure his bike is parked all right, before he follows Max toward the door. ]
Sure. Coffee sounds fine. How long you'd say she'd be? An hour?
no subject
[ Closing the door behind them and heading towards the kitchen. ]
Yeah, she said about an hour. It might be less, I think she wanted to beat this next level a lot.
no subject
[ He sits, putting his feet up on the table. ]
All right. I guess I'll be out of your hair after that. We didn't exactly have plans or nothing.
no subject
[ over her shoulder from the kitchen as she drops her boots just outside it ]
It's not a small house, you guys aren't in my hair.
no subject
[ Who even still lives in the MAC. ]
Sugar, no cream.
no subject
Right, just a couple minutes. If you start sending lots of time here, you're going to need to start bringing coffee. We run out really fast.
no subject
[ He sits up a bit. ]
I can chip in, I guess. Coffee don't cost that much.
