[As promised Kenzi arrives at the restaurant a little before seven (like five before); which is a feat given how often she's usually late. Since it would be out of place at this restaurant she hasn't gone all out on the dress up and hasn't overdone it with some stylish hairdo, just simple large loose curls. Simple yet stylish.

After coming through the door she quickly locates Gil and makes an attempt to sneak up on him. Although if he had any sense he would have been keeping his eyes on the door.]

[ Then he pauses, letting silence linger on a while as he tries to come up with something to say (and fight the blood rising to his face.) ]

Ah... It's fine. It's better than being stuck with April or the Deputy Mayor alone. [ Well, he still has that to deal with... ]

[wisecracked]

But I like flying.

You make it sound like you would rather not even have done this. [Kenzi shifts and bumps her hip against him as the walk, easily bouncing off him and right back into step.]

[invoking]

[ Realizing his error, his eyes widen and he frantically waves a hand. ]

I didn't mean it in -- not that way! [ Because he never signed up for this in the first place. It wasn't bad, but it had been nerve wracking. ] I'm not very good at this...

[wisecracked]

[She snickers softly and shakes her head.] It's okay, Gil. You're a virgin, I totes understand.

[invoking]

[ The red in his cheeks brightens. ]

KENZI!! THAT'S ENOUGH!

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi has to stop walking just so she doesn't fall over as she bursts into a fit of laughter. She didn't mean it that way but rather pertaining to actual dates and the likes.

Naturally Gil's outburst and Kenzi's laughter causes a few people to stare.]

[invoking]

[ Bright eyes dart back and forth between Kenzi and the onlookers. He wants to sink into a hole and never come back out right about now. ]

Don't talk about m-my personal -- just don't talk about those things!!

[wisecracked]

[It takes a few moments before Kenzi finally stops laughing enough to right herself and move again. She gasps and shakes her head.]

I meant with dates. [She starts to say more but figures he's probably embarrassed enough for right now.]

Argh! Forget it! [ Those passing by are still watching and he begins to walk as fast as he can down the street, shoving his hands into his coat pockets and grumbling. ]

[wisecracked]

Is too! [She scrambles after him as he walks a little too fast for her comfort in her totally nonsensible shoes.]

Wait up!

[invoking]

My life isn't a joke!! [ Is he sobbing? Maybe. ]

[wisecracked]

[She finally catches up, curse your long legs Gil.] I know, I'm sorry. I really didn't mean it that way though. I guess inexperienced would have been a better word but... [Since when does she think of using bigger words on the fly?]

[ The word hits him like a boulder to the face. ]

[ He's suddenly squatting on the sidewalk, head hanging low. ]

Why is this so important...

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi nearly trips over herself as she comes to a stop and turns around to face him. She sighs softly and squats down next to him.]

It's not I guess. Dates can be fun. [And in the same vein as flirting don't mean a thing most of the time for Kenzi. She moves her hand to try to list his chin a bit so she can look him in the eye. She smiles soft.]

I'm sorry for embarrassing you and everything else. I really didn't mean to this time.

[invoking]

[ He doesn't draw back from her touch, but it does take him nearly a minute to look her straight in the face.

It's so hard to stay even frustrated at her. ]

I guess... [ As long as he didn't think about certain obligations that came with dates, it really was like spending a day with someone. It's almost strange there's an actual difference. ]

... It's okay. [ He sighs. This is what he was worried about when Nelson informed about he had been signed up for the auction. He doesn't have a clue how to act around women, even ones he spends time with. ]

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi remains patient, once he finally looks at her she smiles again. Although her smile fades when he says it's okay. She rises, holding out a hand to help him up.]

C'mon. Let's walk and you can tell me how you really feel about all this. It's not healthy to keep it all bottled up.

[invoking]

I'm not keeping anything bottled up. [ He was about to take her hand, but he pauses.

He doesn't want to talk about his non-existent sex life. ]

[wisecracked]

[She continues to stand there with one hand out for him.]

A'ight, fine. Just c'mon, it's more than a bit nippy.

[invoking]

[ He finally takes her hand, pulling himself up. ]

I've already explained... I'm unwed back home... [ She has to understand that means there's been no... sexual relations... of any sort.

Otherwise he would have children running around and he can barely keep Oz and Alice in his sights for long. ]

[wisecracked]

[Unmarried doesn't mean no sex, Gil.

She rolls her eyes at him.] I know that. And I know you've never courted anyone. But I still meant it about dates, not all that other stuff. It made you all uncomfortable because you don't, like, know how to act in this situation. So I get that you didn't mean what you said earlier as an insult or anything.

I'd ask if you enjoyed the evening... [She trails off with a shrug and starts walking again.]

Wait -- no, I did! I had a good time! [ Save for Kenzi blowing up that poor couple's drinks and scaring them off. ] I didn't say otherwise!

[Sounds like he knows what's fun. Kenzi would like him if not for the whole sadist streak.

She blinks up at him then smiles.]

Good! It's sometimes very hard to tell with you.
