silent film stars stuck in talking cinema life
WHO: Nill & Davesprite.
WHERE: Da park.
WHEN: Sunday afternoon.
WARNINGS: Nada.
SUMMARY: Meeting and things.
FORMAT: Quickie.
[The past couple of weeks had not been easy. Damian's port-out had hit Nill harder than she wanted to admit, even to Kate. He had been the tough constant in her life for two years. Losing him to the porter's whims had left a bitter feeling in her heart, and acting as if it hadn't was more difficult than she'd imagined. She had started taking the long way back to the apartment from work, and now that it was warmer outside, that path had started leading her through a park.
Even though it's nice enough outside for shorts, jeans and sneakers are required at the shoppe, though she's shed her usual wing-hiding cardigan to enjoy the sun on her shoulders and wings. After a few minutes of wandering, Nill pushes her bangs from her eyes and looks up to be greeted by a familiar mop of blonde hair. Automatically, she smiles and adjusts her course towards him. Her wings stretch, and she gently taps Davesprite's shoulder, looking curiously at the newspaper on the table in front of him, all marked up.]

Said hair of blonde jerks up when Nill taps him on the shoulder, one hand flying to fix his sunglasses as he glances over his shoulder to look at her. Instinctively, he starts folding the newspaper back up.]
Sup Nill.

[He shrugs on the other side of the table and leans into his hand tiredly.]

Not that I'd mind, but I gotta do this myself. Whenever I do it again.

They should pay us just for living here.
no subject
We do get paid for living here. Every Thursday.

[She might feel his pulse skip for a second if she finds it at the right moment.]
no subject
We all have accounts linked to our tags. We get two hundred dollars every Thursday. [A beat.] You did not know?
no subject
I mean, who doesn't know that, right?
[Excuse him while he crumples up the classifies in his other hand.]
no subject
A job is still not a bad idea. Two hundred dollars a week really is not much.

[He grins, as if a huge weight had just been lifted off his shoulders. Granted, there was still the matter of the fact that he felt the need to prove to Kanaya that he could do it...but the guilt from leaving Rose to take care of everything was gone.]
Haven't touched it since I got here anyway.
no subject
Then you have a lot saved up. I am glad I told you.

[Davesprite, its sunny and hot.]
no subject
What will you do with it?
no subject
[He rubs the back of his neck.]
Or I might just give it to Rose.
no subject
Would she take it?
no subject
[Despite being the oldest he is clearly the least adult when it comes to money.]

Maybe the taxes would be better.
no subject
I bet I can do both.
no subject
Would you really?
no subject
[What else would he do, buy another cat? Fuck that.]

Golden Toilet Seat sounds way more fun.

I do not see how a toilet seat can be fun but okay.
