[Angelica's summer has gone by in the blink of an eye, and considering she lives with the fastest mutant alive, that's really saying something. September is right around the corner and soon the halls of the Institute would be packed with new and returning students ready to learn. There may be fewer imPort students this year, but it's important to give each of them the opportunity for an education. Recruiting new teachers is just as important, especially now that their best pitchman, Hank, has gone home.
The show must gone on, however, and Angelica is back in her office, updating files and class schedules for the new year. It's a big task, but someone has to do it! Her office is now open for any incoming students or potential faculty who may have questions or need guidance for the coming school year.]

Hank's departure is terrifying, in a sense. He already misses him dreadfully, and he's sure he had become a lax sort of friend, that he'd stopped remembering that time was so precious. It reminded him that he wasn't going home, that he could never be sure how the other side worked, that he may not see Hank ever again...
Naturally, when faced with such feelings, there was only so much he could actively think about them. The rest of the time, he persisted in not thinking about much of anything. And thus did his restlessness and background sense of dread accumulate in his totally re-hauling his office in some sort of mad, pre-school year scramble. It's what brings him to the door of Angelica's office looking slightly disheveled, maybe a little dusty, with a generous armful of books and a slightly strained smile. ]
I am going to get some lunch. Have you eaten already?
no subject
No, I haven't yet. Mind if I join you?
[There is really no one else she'd rather have running the school with her, all truths be told. She may not have ever considered that she and Kurt would make such a good team, but she was grateful for not only his experience with the school itself, but also his level-headedness. Besides, she's always felt a little strange being named co-headmaster, when she'd never been an X-Man or attended Xavier's back home. Kurt makes her feel like she has a place, like her work is valuable. She likes it and she likes him.]

Certainly not. That is why I asked. Just give me a moment to put these things away, ja?
[ It's an easy promise to keep for a teleporter. He vanishes from the doorway only to reappear in less than a minute, sans books and in a clean t-shirt. He reaches up in an attempt to smooth his hair out. ]
If you'd already eaten, I was just going to make myself something. Is there anywhere you'd like to go?
no subject
There's a new deli nearby. I saw it on the way in this morning. They might be worth checking out.
no subject
[ He offers his arm. Old habits. ]
Shall we, Madam Headmaster?
no subject
I'm famished. You know, I think I somehow forgot how intense running a school is over the summer.
no subject
That's the problem with having such a chunk of vacation, hm? It is easy to forget once your mind relaxes away from it.
[ A beat. He shrugs and continues, but his next statement doesn't have the backing of his full confidence. ] I'm sure it will be fine.

You are right. We have to manage, I know, but... Hank has a knack for making these things seem rather effortless, doesn't he? It was easy enough to act alongside him.
[ Without him, though... Kurt is not convinced he's any good for this job. He can do well enough, sure, but he'd like to do better than that. He doesn't feel confident, and he hates that feeling. ] These things happen, however, don't they?

[They'd lost so many. And there'd been so many mutants before. Now, she could almost count their numbers on one hand. Herself and Kurt, and of course Pietro. And Quentin, Julian, Santo, and Sofia. How could that be?]
There were so many of us before. It's strange to think that most of our friends are gone now.
no subject
[ Which sounds defeatist to his own ears, but... In actuality what could be done? Even if they could drag the people they knew here, they were certainly needed more back home. To Kurt's knowledge, mutant-kind's situation was still utterly dire. ]
Potentially lonesome as it may be, we are here and must carry on well.
[ Even though it's not 'potentially' lonesome. It is lonesome. Definitely. That's how he feels now, at least, even in good company. ]

Um, Mrs. Jones? If I might take a moment of your time...
no subject
Please come in! It's open!

I know you're busy getting ready for the new term and with Doctor McCoy disappearing...
Um, does that happen often? Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but I was just thinking it must be hard to keep people on if they can just vanish like that.

[Angelica looks surprised, slowly crawling through her paperwork jungle and to her feet.]
It is difficult sometimes. Any of us could be ported out without any warning.
[A brief look of worry flashes over her.]
You're not... going to quit because Hank is gone, are you?
no subject
[He could understand the worry, but Dan wasn't a man to go back on his word and he doubted job opportunities for imports with few skills just fell from trees]
I just, well, I was sort of hoping to be able to talk to him. Teaching is so far out of my skill-set, I'd hate to get off on the wrong foot with the students.

You've come to the exact perfect office for this, Mr. Dreiberg. I happen to have been in your exact situation a couple years ago. I wasn't a trained teacher when I started, either.
no subject
Oh? Hank left me a few books and such, and I've mainly caught myself up on what's new in the biological sciences, but it's the idea of sharing that information to others that has me stumped.
no subject
[That might be a little harder to fix, but Angelica is sure there's a way to make it work!]

[Angelica keeps whatever paperwork she has in hand, casually glancing up toward the door.]
Oh, Rapunzel. Good afternoon.
no subject
[She smiles brightly as she slips inside.]
I was hoping someone would be here. Do you have a minute...?
no subject
[Realizing there's paperwork everywhere, she laughs sheepishly.]
Make yourself at home.
no subject
I was thinking about that practice test you mentioned. Maybe if I take it now, I would know what I don't have to worry about anymore?
no subject
[She stands and walks over to one of the filing cabinets behind her desk.]
Have you been studying in advance?
