some had scars and some had scratches
WHO: HARVEY DENT and YOU.
WHERE: NOHoPE.
WHEN: Tuesday (17th) to Sunday (22nd)
WARNINGS: ??
SUMMARY: Visiting hours!! Or various other hospital things.
FORMAT: Tagger's choice.
[ It hasn't been long since he was arrested, but Harvey's been well-behaved. He does as he's told, he takes his pills, and he reads and sleeps a lot. Therapy hasn't been productive in that mostly he's been unresponsive so far, uncommunicative and sullen, but it's an improvement from his usual tendency to provoke his doctors.
How long this'll last remains to be seen, but for now-- well, some doctors might note it as the "down" cycle in a manic-depressive. For those that know Harvey, though, they might recognize that his mood shifts aren't necessarily just chemical-based. Any visitors shouldn't expect too much energy from him... at least not at first.
But Harvey's emotions are easy ones to provoke. ]

tuesday morning
she's as stern and unyielding a keeper as she ever was. if anything, the hospital's becoming a harsher place in some regards. but when she finally comes to see him personally, it's hard to say if she means to approach as his warden or his acquaintance.
as the cell door shuts behind her, the smooth hum of her mechanical voice offers an unreadable greeting: ]
Good morning, Harvey.
no subject
Danger.
[ He turns his head finally, not moving from his bed. He looks at her for a silent moment before he looks back at the ceiling. ]
Too early to tell.
no subject
Your days here have thus far been fairly regular and routine.
[ she says it mildly enough, not yet argumentative. the inflections in her voice remain minimal. in her place, one of the doctors or orderlies might have been flipping through his chart, full of meticulous documentation, but not her. everything is in that computerized brain of hers. even now, she's monitoring him. ]
You have been a well-behaved patient, Harvey.
[ it's hard to tell if she means to express praise, suspicion, or a simple observation. ]
no subject
[ He looks at her again, finally sitting up so that his legs swing off the side of the bed. He lets his hangs off his knees. After a moment watching her in return, he shrugs a little absently. ]
Maybe I'm bored. If I'm going to be stuck here I like being able to use both my arms.
[ Coin flipping don't work in a straightjacket. ]
no subject
I would have thought you would be more resistant.
[ there, finally. something less ambiguous-- an expression of doubt, even skepticism. her distrustful nature showing itself. she even lets one hand rest lightly on her hip in a human gesture she must have picked up somewhere. ]
Are you bored, Harvey?
no subject
[ He raises his eyebrow, looking at her with the same deadpan kind of calm no matter the dissonance between each side of his face. He shakes his head. ]
I don't know what else I should be doing. Is that boredom? [ He frowns. ] Don't know. What do you think?
no subject
I would hardly go so far as to accuse you of being bad all the time.
You did, however, go to extreme lengths to escape before.
So I assume you can understand my skepticism of your compliance.
[ a brief pause, before she goes on: ]
One might even say it concerns me.

20 september, afternoon
She hasn't seen him since he broke into her and Kate's apartment. She hasn't wanted to. She doesn't even really want to now. But he keeps coming back into their lives, and a part of her wants to know why. Not that she really expects him to answer, but there can't be any (physical) harm in trying, right? She takes a deep breath, standing stock still around the corner for a moment with her pad of paper and pen clutched in her arms. She isn't allowed to touch him to speak and even if she was, she wouldn't.
Nill steps up to the cell door, waiting for him to see her.]
no subject
Not that he'd been expecting anyone.
Harvey looks at her, leaning close to the glass, good eye halfway lidded as he regards her. ]
You're her. That kid. Aren't you?
no subject
no subject
So. What do you want? Doubt you're here just to see the freak in the cage. Unless you are.
no subject
Why won't you leave her alone?
no subject
[ The way his eye narrows is decidedly unapologetic. ]
She knew what she was doing. Got what was comin' to her. Kind of thing that happens every day to nosy troublemakers.

sunday afternoon;
Yet, here she is, approaching his cell. Each step closer intensifies her anger, causes her to relive that night over and over. The image of Kate's corpse will never leave her memory.
Although she wants nothing more than to turn around and walk away, it's her duty to be here. Another innocent victim has died, and there's no doubt who the culprits are. Based on eyewitness descriptions, the perpetrators were infamous, and the only one who would know their location would be their employer.
She's exhausted all potential leads with no success. While she doubts that Dent will offer useful information, it would be foolish if she didn't at least try. ]

Not until she talks to him. ]
Renee.
[ ... ]
What are you here for?
no subject
Your twins killed a man. Where are they?
no subject
Don't know. You think I've heard from them?
no subject
[ Headquarters or other locations where they could hide. Even if he has no knowledge of this specific incident, he has information. ]
no subject
[ He sits back, finally glancing away a little casually. One leg folds over the other and his hand twitches a little, like it wants to go for his coin. He doesn't, yet. ]

saturday morning.
She hasn't been in an institution since her last stint at Arkham either. Being a visitor is a little strange and completely daunting. There was always something familiar about Arkham, but NOHoPE is foreign and weird.
She stand outside of his cell door and offers a wave in greeting. ]

He crosses his arms, turning over in his bed so that he's sitting up, legs hanging off the side. ]
Quinn.
Did you want something?
no subject
[Harley is nothing if not optimistic and annoyingly cheerful. She steps close to the cell glass and gives him a flash of teeth as she grins. ]
I wanted to see how you're doin'. It ain't no adventure bein' locked in one of these.
no subject
[ He doesn't hold her in high-esteem at the moment, let's just say. Not her fault, he's in one of his moods. ]
Ain't no adventure, no. You get pretty used to it after enough times.
no subject
[Dummy is muttered under her breath. She gives him a look that suggests long-suffering, as though this reaction is an every day occurrence. ]
What the hell got into you?
no subject
What d'you mean?
To get locked up in here?
