did you hurt someone?
WHO: jenny quantum & YOU!
WHERE: still superjail.
WHEN: any time in early october.
WARNINGS: jenny quantum's potty mouth.
SUMMARY: jenny's sixth month in prison.
FORMAT: quicklog.
[ jenny quantum had, in fact, been getting a little taller. she was a healthy sixteen year old girl after all-- and six months was a long time. her hair had gotten long enough that it needs to be tied back into a short tail at the back of her head. and she looks older somehow. maybe that's what prison does to young girls or what six months without powers does to the spirit of the century-- or maybe that's just jenny quantum, always growing up too fast.
but at least she's become progressively more well-read. there's not much to do besides read. books, more letters from her growing cult following, whatever. she spends most of her time in her cell, alone, absorbing words. when her visitors come to meet her in the visiting room, they'll probably find her waiting over an open book. a classic from larsa, maybe, or one of kanaya's lesbian vampire romances. ]

I basically thrive on vampire drama. [ her voice comes dry and mild. ] Where the hell've you been?

What, like a fucking present? Kitty, you shouldn't have.

no subject
C'mon.

Open it before you go getting all snippy with me. And if you get caught with them, I wasn't the one who snuck them in.

Hello there.
[Her tone is bright, friendly.]
no subject
Hi.
[ her greeting comes mild and casual, with a teenager's general disinterest. ]
I was wondering if you were actually gonna come.
no subject
I brought you something. Hungry?
no subject
Maybe.
[ even if she's not exactly starving, prison isn't known for its cuisine. even so, there's something a little habitually taunting about the way she goes on: ]
What'd you bring? Something fancy?
no subject
I brought you chopsticks, but they made me replace them with these, [exhibit a: a a plastic spork. Christine is unimpressed.] Not the experience I was hoping to provide...
[But, oh well.]
no subject
What the fuck did they think I'd do, try and break out with the chopsticks? [ she's a miracle-worker of sorts, but she's not that good. her father, on the other hand... ] They don't want me to have any fucking fun.
[ still, she reaches to pop open the box she's offered, eying the contents. it's pretty, and probably more appetizing than anything she's had to eat in the past several months. she takes a bite, chews, and swallows before speaking again, with a mild dryness: ]
Fancy.

October 6
Hello. Haven't really spoken with you before. Wanted to rectify. Some things to discuss.
no subject
she doesn't invite him to sit. he will, if he wants to. ]
Yeah? Well, maybe we should discuss who the fuck you are first.
no subject
Professor Mordin Solus, Clinic administrator. Assumed you'd heard of me. Provided health services for Carrier population briefly.
no subject
Right.
[ still, outwardly, she doesn't seem particularly phased. it's mild but not especially friendly when she continues: ]
So. Professor. What the fuck do you want.
no subject
Curious about some things, mainly. Have had no information on state of Carrier. Was wondering if you still knew how things were going in orbit.
no subject
[ she leans back in her chair, waving her hand dismissively. ]
What the hell would you want with my ship anyway?

8 October?
Billy Kaplan. Kanaya Maryam. One was already a friend who'd had issues with Jenny. One was a potential friend, who - amazingly - had also had issues with Jenny. Julian's like a fucking matchmaker here, and he's not sure how that happened.
Though a big part of it is that he's just really sick and tired of seeing Jenny in here feeling sorry for herself, thinking that no one gives a damn about her anymore. The truth is, people do. Her friends do, if she'll let them. He glances between Kanaya and Billy, eyebrows lifted while he falls into a seat. ]
Ready for this? Play nice. [ A pointed glance in Kanaya's direction at that. ] This'll be as friendly as we make it.

she doesn't say anything, and she doesn't have anything she cares to say either. it's like a christmas miracle. in truth, she really doesn't want to be here and wouldn't have come if julian hadn't dragged her. instead of sitting, she just leans against the wall on the side, moving to look at the floor. if stares can destroy matter all on their own, she will discover it today. ]
no subject
Alternatively, maybe Jenny swearing at him and telling him he was a moron was better than the looks of pity he'd been meriting lately.]
It'll be fine.
no subject
still, her voice is a bit dry when she sits down to greet them: ]
So. What's the fucking occasion?
no subject
But at least they were here. He lifts his eyebrows at Jenny. ]
Oh, you know. It's your demiversary. Six months done, we figured we'd have a party. Jenny, I think you're familiar with Kanaya and Billy. [ Indicating each of them in turn. ] We're here to keep you company.
