Ladies Night

It wasn't a New Year's resolution persay, but Selina had been cutting back on the drinking alone. Besides, this Jen sounded like just her sort of company for a proper girl's night out.

She wasn't lying about being green either. Jen would have been easy enough to spot even if the few other patrons hadn't been giving her plenty of breathing room.

"What was that about adamantium claws?" Selina asked as she slid onto the empty stool to Jen's left.

"Now, you sound like Wolvie. If you start calling me 'bub', we're going to have words," she teased easily. "I'm not always the best team player either. I haven't been a regular on the Avengers in over a year, but I swear I get in more trouble by myself."

"Mmm, 'bub' isn't really my style." There was amusement in Selina's voice. She tapped the bar with her empty hand, "Something wrong with getting into trouble where you come from? I've always found it makes life a bit more interesting."

"Then if my life were anymore interesting, I'd be awarded the Pulitzer for non-fiction without even putting pen to page," Jen joked.

"it's not that I mind most of it, I just wish it wouldn't all happen at once. All the time."

Finally, her drink arrived. Selina sipped this one a bit more slowly than the last. "Things do tend to pile up quickly, whether you're playing the hero game or not," Selina admitted. "But there's a difference between asking for trouble and looking for the specific brand you want."
