In truth, Selina didn't really give a damn if she had a license for Ramus or not. When had she ever cared much about the legality of anything she did? But it was clear the detective wasn't going to drop it. Besides, she figured he at least deserved lunch for putting a bullet in the Joker.

She arrived a few minutes after two, "fashionably" late as per usual. Leather jacket and boots to ward off the November chill, sunglasses she took off as soon as she entered the diner, scanning the familiar booths for Lassiter.

She set down her glass and folded her hands, still smiling. "I thought it was."

"A character like you would," he remarked, though not with nearly as much bite to it as it should.

"Person, not character," she reminded. Likewise, her tone wasn't quite as harsh as it could have been.

He gave a slight smile, feeling oddly at ease. "Of course, I'll try to choose my words better next time."

"Mmm." She finished off the rest of her ice tea, nodded at the paperwork. "Anything else needed for that mess?"
