[ By 7:01pm Cameron is all moved in; not that she had much at the house to begin with. Even though she had been there a month, the apartment upstate had more items that were hers than her room at the house had been.

Perhaps, she considered, she had never really thought of it as home to begin with. She was satisfied with her decision, even if no one else seemed to be, except for Kyle. ]

[The apartment was easy enough to fine and, sure to her word, when 7:01 rolls around, Jenny's standing outside the flat and knocking on the door. Someone's getting slightly better at handling her power; there are only a few scrapes on her palms this time.]

[ At this rate it's shocking Jenny hasn't gone through several pairs of shoes, but Cameron won't ask her about that.

It only takes her a moment to open the door and while she's still sick, and somewhat stressed out, she's a bit more well-rested than she's been for the last week. ]


Good evening, Jenny. Thank you for coming. [ Standing aside to let Jenny in. ]

[Two pairs. Worn to the point in which the soles of her feet were touching the ground as she walked. The money she had that ought to have gone to food has gone to replacing shoes instead.

She grins as she walks inside and then stands awkwardly, unsure if she should give Cameron a hug.]

[ One of these days it will dawn on Cameron how much other people are unsure how to respond to her, physically. And then she'll do something about it.

For now she goes and gets Jenny a glass of juice, handing it to her with a small smile and then gesturing to the small couch. ]

I am, yes. This is likely something I should have done sooner. How are you?

[If Cameron hadn't been sick, the hug would have been automatic. Jenny, apparently, doesn't know any better. But diseases are something that puzzle (and almost worry) her.

She sits and smiles back widely as she accepts the juice.]

I'm really confused about the idea of a job but I'm healthy and fit right now. Butter than you are, I think.

Employment is necessary in order to ensure that you are able to pay rent and feed yourself. I suggested the hospital because both George and Kyle work there and could possibly assist you should the need arise.

[ Cameron drinks her own juice and nods, slightly. ]

I am unwell. But I am improving.

[Jenny smiles a little, clearly grateful for the suggestion.]

Do you understand how the American monetary system works? I do not think it would be that hard for you to learn.

[ Cameron grabs a folded paper off a nearby end table. It's got some basic math for cash handling on it. ]

Yes. It would be good if you knew the difference between a quarter and a dime and things of that nature. [ Cameron nods, taking another sip of her juice. ] Also how to tell counterfeit money from real money, but I doubt you would have much cause to deal with that at the hospital.

[ If Cameron can figure out a way to get Jenny to take food with her, she totally will. As it is, she stands and makes her way into the kitchen. Not much by way of decoration yet, but the appliances are all in working order and it's at least half-full of food.]

Do you like soup? I have quite a lot of soup, at the moment. Chicken, also, and fruit.

[Jenny gets up and follows Cameron, looking around the kitchen curiously.]

I like soup. I've only tried it a couple of times.

[ Most of the things in the kitchen are blue, a pale green, or light brown. Woodsy colors, sky colors. The appliances are silver, though, and she takes out a few containers of soup from the fridge. ]

I have clam chowder, Italian wedding and a sausage and chicken soup. Which one do you want to try?

I like the Italian Wedding one. [ Pulling out a small pot to heat it up in. ] I've been learning to cook, but I bought the soups.

There is no space flight where I am from. And I don't know that I could ever run away, even just to see new things. I thought about it. But I would worry that I am risking too much.
