WHO: Bakura and Vector Prime
WHERE: Upper West Toys
WHEN: Friday, early afternoon
SUMMARY: Vector meets up with Bakura to find out more about the Porter related stuff Bakura didn't quite feel was a good idea to talk about where the Porter could maybe hear
FORMAT: Paragraph to start, whatever after.
Bakura was doing rounds at the store, checking to see how things were going, chatting with customers, tidying up shelves, keeping an eye on the door to see when Vector would arrive. It was still early, but, for once, Bakura had been keeping track of the time so he wouldn't be caught in something when the other arrived.

The difference was infintismal. But it was still there. And to someone who had such a close nature with time as he did, even if it was subdued here...he still found it bothersome.
Nonetheless, it was seconds away from the agreed upon time when the door opened and he steped inside, looking around to get his bearings. It seemed like a nice enough place.

"It is," Vector confirmed, returning the bow. "And you are Bakura Ryou, unless my memory is mistaken?"
He rather hoped not. It wasn't perfect before, but for it to have declined that much in the city would have been disturbing. Nonetheless, he held a thin smile on his face, willing to bet that it hadn't.

'Messy' in this case meaning that there were a few pallets on the floor, one in the process of being unpacked by an employee who gave Bakura a nod as he went by, and a few stacked boxes that seemed a bit out of place. Other than that, it was a very neat and orderly area.
In a back corner was a door marked "Manager", a few notes, held on with tape and a wipe off board being the only decoration. He fumbled with his keys a moment before unlocking the door and holding it open for his guest.
The room inside was a bit of start contrast to the warehouse like space it was part of. Tastefully, but minimally, decorated with a sink and counter one corner and a rather large desk with a computer in the other. Another table had a long bookshelf over it with numerous catalogs and binders.
"Would you like some tea?" Bakura asked, moving to the counter to get out a pair of mugs.

...well, to be fair, he wasn't any more certain how things worked than he was before. Ages away from civilization, interfering only when required, could do that to someone. But he felt it best to keep quiet, at least for now. The only reason he recognized any small thing was probably because of his stay in the Aurex cluster, working with those humans...he had learned quite a lot from them in a small amount of time.
"If you would be so kind," he said, resting a hand on the one of the chairs. "I hope I won't be taking up too much of your time."

He let his eyes wander, gaze falling upon one of the papers on the table. He picked it up curiously, scanning the characters as he tried to place their familiar-
Ah. One of the many human languages other than English.

Vector set down the paper back down. It could have been important, and he'd rather not have messed things up for Bakura when the youth was being kind.

And having already learned of the heat of coffee, he wisely gave the mug a bit to cool before reaching for it.

And yet they, too, were One.

He paused briefly. Took a sip of the tea, and a moment to note the taste...then exhaled slowly. There was no Safeguard here to speak with, nor any other Minicon, not even the Cybertronians here were those he knew and he may as well share it with someone to whom abusing such information would be the last thought in their mind.
"I am worried, Bakura. The last time I saw so many dimensions together, the fabric of the Multiverse itself was damaged - past, present, and future were tangled up with one another."

"In a way-- in a way, it is like they are here... even people from my world, or worlds like it... none of us are from the same time. Yuugi-kun's a few months before me, Kiryuu-kun and Juudai-kun are from different points in the future..." He took another small sip. "But time here seems to progress normally, I think...."

He shrugged helplessly. "Confusing, and yet...reassuring. It is why I wish to learn more about that which created this mess."

He looked down at his mug with a small frown, thinking. "And with how some people are changed, and people who didn't have their own bodies before being given one... it might be true. None of us really have any way to know, really!" he said, smiling now. "But that might be why things would be more stable... where it's just the souls-- or sparks-- of people being brought in. That would take less energy and less--" he paused a moment. "Aaah, what is it in English?" he grimaced. "less distortion, I think is the best way I can put it."
no subject
He paused briefly, then continued. "[I know the language of your writing, if that would help,]" he said in perfect Japanese.
no subject
"Transferring souls across worlds takes more energy than moving physical objects?" he asked curiously. "And that would make sense, since people who normally can travel worlds find they can't once they get here. I remember someone saying that all the roads he traveled seemed blocked, or something like that."
no subject
"I, on the other hand, am not he. I can move through dimensions, but...I have the feeling that if I tried, I, too, would be blocked."
It took some getting used to, being human.
