WHO: Bakura and Vector Prime
WHERE: Upper West Toys
WHEN: Friday, early afternoon
SUMMARY: Vector meets up with Bakura to find out more about the Porter related stuff Bakura didn't quite feel was a good idea to talk about where the Porter could maybe hear
FORMAT: Paragraph to start, whatever after.

Bakura was doing rounds at the store, checking to see how things were going, chatting with customers, tidying up shelves, keeping an eye on the door to see when Vector would arrive. It was still early, but, for once, Bakura had been keeping track of the time so he wouldn't be caught in something when the other arrived.

"I could believe that if it wouldn't require just as much if not more energy. My own theory - so far - is that we are in a time bubble of sorts, seperated from the rest of the Multiverse. But that doesn't answer everything..."

He paused briefly, then continued. "[I know the language of your writing, if that would help,]" he said in perfect Japanese.

Vector sipped at the tea, gradually getting used to the taste. It was...different, taste in all forms, but not in the bad way. "You humans have quite a few languages, for only holding one planet," he remarked. "But I digress. And it depends on the nature of the transfer, and the power of the one doing it. For example...there was another Prime, who could hold sparks literally in the palm of his hand. Transfer them from chassis to chassis. It was effortless for him because that was a side effect of what he had been built to do.

"I, on the other hand, am not he. I can move through dimensions, but...I have the feeling that if I tried, I, too, would be blocked."

It took some getting used to, being human.

He leaned forward at that, intrigued. "That power is beyond my measure. But regardless of what you call it, it is there. And I wonder about it. How it came about, and if there is any effect on the rest of the Multiverse or if we are truly cut off."

Vector paused then, considering. "As I did not sense anything wrong when I was not here, perhaps all effects are contained. But...I cannot say for certain."

"It's possible. There are a great many forces at work in the Multiverse, and many I do not know." He sipped at the tea. "Is it likely? Not as much as a singular, central force affecting such matters. There may have been another catalyst that started it, but if there are any answers to be found, I can only believe they will be found in this dimension."

Gods with a sense of humor. They could be the worst kind. Nonetheless...

"Can anyone just go up and talk to it, then?"

"And no one has any idea what it wants, or what its function is? Other than apparently searching for heroes." In which case, it was out of luck when it came to Vector; a hero was someone who went above and beyond the call of duty.

He merely fulfilled his to the best of his ability.

"So if it doesn't get what it wants...it makes them into what it wants. And then turns them loose without a care...?"

He was guessing, hypothesizing without a real idea in mind. Still, Vector trusted Bakura to correct him if he was wrong at any point.

"For lack of seeing anything else..." Vector gazed down into the tea with a meditative expression. "But there has to be another meaning. Even if it just a corrupt program, there must be something more than such. Things are never that simple, especially not with something so powerful...!"

"The pursuit of knowledge...?" Well...that wouldn't be too out of the question. Preparation, though...the thought made him frown, but not in a dismissive way.

"I think," he said after a few moments of silence, "that the only one who has the right answers is the Porter."

Another few moments of silence. Longer ones.

"You...wish to stay here, rather than returning?" he asked slowly, arching his brow.

There was more than this than met the eye.

But it was not his place to pry. And so, Vector Prime only studied Bakura, pressed his lips together, and then nodded.

"If you say as much, then I am sure it is true," he said simply. Children...

But they were to make their own decisions. And if this one - not even one of Primus's - had decided he was happier here than there, who was he to argue otherwise?

"That seems understandable to me, my young friend. For everyone who comes from a happy circumstance, there may be one who comes from more...stressful ones." Assuming the Porter's selection really was random.

*noms*
