SUMMARY: Visit Momjeans in the hospital! Leave her flowers! Threatening notes! Rub it in her face that she got ridiculously concussed from just a simple metal sword hilt to the head! Sneak real food in! Fill her in on the stuff that's going down in the city!

[Maza's in her hospital room, grumpy, headache-y, and creeped out by the note on those flowers that got delivered to her room.]

[ And Elisa just looks over at him defiantly. ]

No, I know.

[ Saitou returns the look just as strongly, if not more. She wants to be stubborn, fine. But he's not letting her try any stunts again today. ]

Well since you don't have them with you, perhaps you should listen to your doctors and wait until they release you to do so.

[ A glare-off? Oh, she is down with that. ]

They're going to release me tomorrow, you know.

[ Smiiiiirk ]

I won't be here tomorrow.

Well, I should hope not. If you are, then I'm having persistent delusions and I'll really be in trouble.

[ Hnnnngh this is another pause where he would really be dying to have a cigarette right now. ]

Hmph. I'm sure.

[A resigned sigh.] The real you is probably half-way around the world by now.

[ Well that hits him harder than he'd like it to. And it shows on his face before he even thinks of masking it, and god help him he's walking toward her again. Reminders of the last time he'd been looking down at her like this come to mind, and he finds himself tilting her chin up like before. He couldn't help it. He didn't like that look on her face. ]

I wouldn't do that.

[ And once again, all she can do is stare up blankly at him. And if she keeps telling herself this is just a dream, she can absolve her guilt. ]

Why wouldn't you? It'd be the smart thing to do.

[ Saitou just keeps eye contact with her for awhile, though eventually he sets his arm back to his side. There wasn't much he could do, here, and he was uncertain about what to do already without her asking that. And he didn't want to make her any more uncomfortable than she was now. ]

It's not honorable. [ He looks away then, focusing on something else, anything else-- the blue flowers in his line of vision aren't exactly helping. ] Nothing I've done to you has been honorable.

[ It occurred to her that she didn't mind his touch. When had that happened? She tried very hard not to think about it. Fortunately, he seemed just as uncomfortable as she. So she deflects, as always, with a joke. ]

Well, it's not like you knocked me up and dumped me.

[ My dear god that look that he had earlier like she had grown two heads? Totally back and twice as potent. ]

Hm.

[ Something occurs to her. ]

... You do know what that means, right?

[ WELP she got him to scowl I hope you're happy ]

I've been in this country long enough to pick up some things, yes.

[ Well psh totally doesn't know what to do now, he'd already semi-started an apology and then she went on that tangent out of nowhere--

Oh hell that exasperated sigh he's been holding back for the last hour or so lets out and he goes back to sit in the chair beside her. It fit better with his personal space. And hers as well, he was sure. Also don't mind him he might be muttering under his breath that he can't have his cigarette, sob. Darn nicotine. ]

[ She stares aimlessly up at the ceiling, her mind full down that tangent now. ]

God, could you even imagine me with kids? My sister's always wanted them, sure, but I wouldn't even know what to do with a baby.

[ TOTALLY PURPOSEFULLY NOT LOOKING AT HER NOW I DON'T EVEN
Although his voice sounds a bit distant, as she's made him be reminded of home. Which... feels incomplete. And it wasn't sitting well with him that it was this tangent that brought that up. ]

[ Looks over at him, surprised. ]

Oh, that's right, you've got a wife back home. You have kids?

[ He doesn't even notice the involuntary twitch he makes when she mentions his wife. Tokio. Someone he was so certain he'd never see again. There might be a bit more expression in his eyes now than he normally lets people see, which is another reason why Saitou isn't looking her way. Although...

... Although he doesn't know what to say to that. Doesn't know how to answer that. His eyes can't help but widen. This was-- ]

I can't remember.

[ ... That was not the reaction she expected. At all. And she suddenly felt so bad for him, guilty and out of place, forgetting what he had done and what side of the law she needed to be on. ]

... I'm so sorry.

[ He doesn't even hear her. His mind is racing. He's not even aware of where he is or what he's doing here anymore, because right now all he's seeing is red and his fists clench audibly. Right now he almost wished he'd brought his sword with him so he could get a head-start to the jail before anyone else. ]

I'm going to kill him.

[ Figures her dream would take a turn for the worse. Him knocking her out was bound to leave some sort of scar on her psyche. And although she won't ever admit it, she's a little bit afraid of him. ]

So he'll come back free and outside the jail? So I get to arrest you on another charge and have you never see the light of day again?

[ Well now Saitou's more in the present time than before, and though he may not mean it, he still looks pretty damn furious when he looks back over to her. ]

He is sitting in there and not even suffering consequences for any of his actions-- He knows he's going to be damn safe in there now because now I can't get to him. And that bastard did this and isn't even paying for it-- [ He can't rage properly sitting down like this, and abruptly stands back up and paces a bit up and down that side of the room, before there is a quite loud and quite Japanese string of curses following that. That freak was dead. Dead. ]

[ Some of her fear must show on her face, she's sure. Right now she's completely helpless and completely unarmed, her headache is returning in full force and she's alone in here with him. And she doesn't know what to do, but she knows she's got to do something. So she gives that standing thing another shot. ]

IT WAS A GOOD EPISODE! SHE HAD A THIGH HOLSTER AND CARRIED A GUN UNDER THE SKIRT!
