[In progress]
WHO: Dick and Wally.
WHERE: Tower.
WHEN: Morning after meeting Toro after Damian's arrival.
WARNINGS: None.
SUMMARY: Lalala, this was totally Dick's night. But Wally's an awesome friend.
FORMAT: Quickpara.
[Dick had to get back to the Tower eventually. Especially after meeting Toro and realising that he was going to hurt someone seriously if he kept on going. This had really been an incredibly sucky night.
It had taken forever to fall asleep but he'd managed it, and he was totally skipping school and being an angry idiot today. There. So he wakes up late and he crawls into the kitchen to eat cereal because cereal is the best comfort food ever.
Not that he really has any comfort food. That would be girly.]

Oh, right! We were going to learn how to cook. [Fetching those books now, he'll be back in the same second already flipping through the pages of one book.] So what do we start with?
no subject
Well, the truth is it's all useless because it will be killed to the ground by the timeswitch :( Or, at least, Roy and Wally will have to convince Dick it's still okay if it is...]I don't know. Something we have all the ingredients here to make it already?
[He spies over Wally's shoulder.] Move to the end and let's take a look at the desserts.
no subject
[sob why you do this ;;]I like the way you think. [Flipping pages until he's at the dessert section which he will go over studiously.]
Hmm, the Strawberry Angel Food dessert looks promising.
no subject
We'd need angel food cake and I'm pretty sure there is none in the Tower already.
[The sensible thing would be to suggest going out to buy some, but--]
We could make some.
no subject
Then let's! [Going through the books until he's found a suitably recipe for angel food cake. It looks simple enough.]
no subject
We don't have any almond extract. Do you think it matters?
[He looks at the recipe again, reading it more carefully.]
We could just put twice the amount of vanilla. Or skip it entirely.
no subject
I don't think it matters too much. Let's just go with twice the vanilla.
[And now he's off to help gather all the necessary stuff they need for this awesome cake.]
no subject
Gee, we're going to be wasting so many eggs on this.
Is there even something we can do with all the egg yolk?
no subject
You do realize you're asking the guy who hasn't really baked before, right?
I have no idea.
no subject
Dick puts the whites in a bigger bowl and hands it to Wally with an egg beater.]
You go ahead and fluff them. You can go way faster than me, it'll be more efficient.
[In the meantime, Dick is going to start sifting the dry ingredients.]
no subject
Sure thing, boss.
[This isn't hard and he's seen his mother do it before so it really doesn't take him long to finish beating the eggs. Hooray for super speed.]
no subject
Sifting takes longer, because there's no real way to do it quickly, and Dick decides that he's done before repeating the process five times like the recipe tells them to.]
Kay, I'll pour this [he points at his bowl] into your bowl slowly and you can keep mixing everything as I do.
[He waits for Wally's okay before starting to do anything.]
no subject
At some point he is bouncing on the balls of his feet a little though but he's managing.]
Alright.
[He nods and keeps mixing as per instruction.]
no subject
We totally forgot to start the oven in advance.
[Dick starts it and -- well now they have to wait for the oven to get hot. Yeah. He takes a look at the recipe again.]
Christ. This thing needs to cook for an hour.
no subject
[Wally groans and there's a displeased look on his face now.]
Is there anything we can do in the mean time?
[Because there's no way he can stay still for that long.]
no subject
We could just put it in the oven now -- as if it was going to matter if we didn't wait the five minutes for the oven to get hot enough.
And then... [He shrugs, looks around] It's hot outside, the snow'll be sticky. [hintsmirk]
no subject
[Surely you have to wait for a reason but then again Wally doesn't know how all of this is supposed to work so. Dick probably knows best. And he's distracted by the promise of snow anyway.]
Sticky snow, you say? Sounds perfect. [He grins widely.]
no subject
It's going to cook for an hour anyway. It's not gonna be undercooked because -- oh my god! -- it was at 200 degrees instead of 325 for a couple of minutes.
[And time to leave the kitchen to put on coats and mits. Cleaning the kitchen is totally optional -- they're coming back and cooking more in an hour ANYWAY.]
no subject
[Wally's not going to bother with cleaning either for pretty much the same reason. They'll be back to do it later.
So he zips away and waits for Dick by the door, already dressed to go outside in the blink of an eye.]
no subject
Obviously, it takes longer for Dick to get ready but he's not slow or anything. Not from a normal person's point of view, at least.
When he shows up he's zipping up his coat and has his Robin gloves on. They keep hot and he still keeps a very high dexterity with them on, so why not wear them?]
'Kay, let's go.
[Who needs hats and scarves? Not cheeky teenage boys, clearly.]
no subject
It's slow to Wally but he's used to dealing with that. He can show some semblance of patience.
He raises an eyebrow at the gloves but doesn't say anything. Instead opting to nod enthusiastically and hold the door open.]
Where to?
[Hats and scarves are for losers, duh.]
no subject
[Dick goes through the door and hits Wally behind the shoulder in a playful way before starting to run to get outside.
Not that he can outrun Wally but whatever.]
no subject
[Not that it actually hurt but he can pretend to be indignant about suddenly getting hit.
Though he'll be good and humor Dick by giving chase without using super-speed but not without scooping up snow, quickly forming it into a snowball and tossing it once they're outside.]
no subject
Hey! We didn't say we were starting anything, yet!
[However, now that Wally started... Dick can also get a scoop of snow and make a snowball quickly to throw it at Wally's midsection.]
no subject
[Wally crosses his arms and raises an eyebrow, seemingly not moving to dodge the incoming snowball right up until the last moment where he does dodge the snowball at super-speed.]
You suck at this.
