SUMMARY: Hiei makes a deal with Fakir and goes out to find the mysteriously missing Mytho! Alliteration.
FORMAT: Hooooow about some paragraph at least to start.

It was easy enough to feel out Mytho with the Jagan eye, Hiei found, since he had spent time around the boy before. Now it was just a matter of following the "signal" and taking him to Fakir. So he did so, dancing in and out of shadow as he moved quickly enough to be a blur to the sharpest of eyes.

That was enough. Fakir had no answers, and couldn't stand to hear any more, so he scowled and gave Mytho's arm a sharp tug, setting off to haul him across the street.

Mytho's reaction was unexpectedly violent as he yanked his hand free of Fakir's, giving a screech that sounded... eerily like a bird as the feathers swirled around him.

In a moment, he was gone.

Hiei huffed a sigh from his position on the street where he had no doubt become invisible for the past few minutes.

"Well done, guardian." The sarcasm, while hard to read in Hiei's deadpan of the mind, was there nonetheless.

Something under the white headband on his forehead flashed blue as Hiei turned away. "Wait here. I'll fetch him."

Fakir offered no words in his defense, verbal or otherwise, simply standing in place with a rather miserable expression.

Hiei disappeared, or at least seemed to, leaping up into nothing as he went in search of Mytho yet again.

He followed the path the Jagan laid out for him, efficient as ever.

Mytho hadn't gone far, just back to the park, curled up under a tree, entire body shaking.

When Hiei found him this time, he didn't bother with the slow and gentle approach.

"Mytho," he said as he came to hover over him, "Enough. It's time to go inside."

Mytho looked up for the barest moment before again the black feathers enveloped him and he was gone.

Father this time, the other side of the park, up in a tree.

And in short order Hiei was there as well, on an adjacent branch, looking far from amused.

With a bit of a panicked sound, Mytho again vanished, this time appearing at a different park, huddled under a playground slide.

It took Hiei longer to get to him, because he was farther away, but in a matter of minutes he arrived at the playground and shortly after that found Mytho's hiding place.

"I said, enough."

Again, Mytho teleported away in a panic, to yet another park, much farther away.

He staggered slightly as the feathers faded away, clutching at his heart. It hurt... it hurt, it hurt....

Hiei huffed in annoyance as he set off yet again in search of Mytho.

It took longer, certainly--more than five minutes, less than ten--but still no considerable time had passed before Hiei approached Mytho.

Mytho had started near drunkenly lurching away, aimless and teetering, almost as if he was barely clinging to consciousness.

Hiei approached him, one arm out in case he keeled over. He certainly looked capable of it.

"Mytho."

Almost as in response to his name, the white haired prince stumbled and started to fall.

Fortunately, Hiei was quick enough to rush forward and catch him.

"Mytho?" he ventured again, this time a touch uncertain.

There was no response as the boy had passed out.

Of course.

"Of course," Hiei huffed as he carefully lifted Mytho, making sure not to let his feet drag on the ground.

He then began the much slower walk back to the bakery.

Fakir had been waiting this whole time, standing outside the bakery with his arms crossed over his chest and trying not to look worried. Concerned glances from his coworkers told him he wasn't doing a good job.

His eyes widened when Hiei came into view, his line of sight drawn to the boy he was carrying in spite of being a good deal smaller. He waited.

Hiei made it to Fakir's side in due time, but made no move to hand over Mytho.

"He exhausted himself, it seems. Expended too much power in too short a time. Shall I carry him up?"

'I'm perfectly capable of carrying him on my own,' Fakir replied, his expression showing none of the annoyance in his projected voice as he reached out to take Mytho. '...You're probably concerned about your pay, though. You may follow us up.'

Hiei inclined his head, a small gesture, and allowed Fakir to take Mytho from him.

He would follow them up for his payment as Fakir had suggested.

Fakir hurried upstairs, ignoring the looks from those around them. He held Mytho tightly against his chest, loosening his hold only to open the door to their apartment before ducking inside.

'Don't dawdle.'

Hiei didn't dignify that with a response; he was already following closely behind Fakir, and had the forethought to close the door behind himself.
