SUMMARY: Ali talks to Warren about his chat with Juggernaut.

Alison flew on home after talking with Cain, feeling a little unsettled. To be honest, she was a little mad at Warren for what happened on the network, and she was going to talk to him. She understood that they had history, but Cain wasn't doing anything. He wasn't smashing anyone up, and he wasn't hurting anyone.

Why did Warren have to talk to him like that if Cain was just being peaceful?

She noticed Angel on the roof, brooding probably, so she floated forward. Setting down beside him, she folded her arms, and looked away. "Hello, Warren."

[Angel isn't so much Angel at the moment--he's looking a little blue and shiny. He really is in a mood tonight, as his conversations on the network indicate.]

Hi.

[That's mostly a grunt.]

[She glances over at him before speaking again.]

Everything alright?

[She isn't going to jump into it right away, if only because he's blue right now.]

I'm fine. I was patrolling.

[Riiight.]

Have a nice time?

I guess so.

[WOW. Awkward.]

Why did you--

[She sighs and looks away again. Have to talk to him that way? Have to treat him that way?]

[he rolls his eyes instantly, already not caring for the fight he knows they're going to have.]

Why did I what?

He's not hurting anyone. Why did you push him like that?

Yet. And I've got every right in the world not to like some bastard, especially one who's tried to kill me repeatedly. Get over it.

[Alison glares.]

I never said you have to like him, Warren. You don't have to be his friend. You don't even have to talk to him.

[Why did you even? He was happy. Can't you let him be happy? Ignore him.]

You don't have to talk to Twoey either, but you still do. Even after I've asked you repeatedly to knock it off.

[Glares right back.]

Besides, I could give a shit less about Juggernaut's feelings. If the moron wants to come and try and rip my wings off, he can go right ahead. They grow back! It'd be my what? 3rd? 4th pair in the last couple months? Whoopee.

[She flinches at that. Sometimes she can't help but talk to that stupid plant, and this isn't even the same thing!]

He's not going to rip off your wings, Warren. He can go through me first if he ever wanted to try.

[Like today.]

I don't need you defending me. I'd fight him myself.

[Another grunt, and he takes a big breath that causes those big metal wings to 'clink' around as they raise and drop.]

It's not my problem if that big idiot can't control his temper.

[Her eyes flicker over his wings, but she doesn't say anything yet.]

If I stop talking to Twoey, will you just---I don't know.

[She shrugs and looks away. She can't really say Juggernaut wouldn't hurt anyone, because he DID want to hurt Warren earlier, and she's seen him hurt people before.]

I---maybe he can be good again. Maybe he won't hurt anyone.

[He's just staring at her blankly. The words are going in one ear and out the other. Hearing the threats tonight was all he needed to know; Warren doesn't have a lot of faith in most people--even some of his own teammates--so Juggs isn't moving up the BFF ladder anytime soon.]

Right. Didn't you say he buried you alive?

Yes. But he--

[Fought alongside me? Alison had depended on him greatly when she was frustrated and wanting to kill people. She felt like she owed him or something.

However, can she even defend that act of his? No. No she can't. No matter what, he still buried her alive.]

Yes, he did.

Sweet! Maybe I should go hang out with Apocalypse; we can be buds since we share techno-organic viruses and Celestial upgrades!

[That sarcastic voice sounds oddly mechanical. Literally mechanical.]

[Alison's eyes widen at that comment, and she stares. Was that Warren talking still?]

That's--

[Not the same thing? She doesn't know how to fight with him when he's like this. As for Juggernaut, Ali just can't see him for who he is right now. She wants him to be her friend from Excalibur. She won't believe anything else.]

If he starts hurting people again, you can rub it in my face all you want.

They always do, don't they? Bad guy wants to be good guy and switches over teams to play the part for a few months. Once in a million times you'll get someone special who really means it---like Rogue.

[Cain isn't the good guy she knows, and even if he was on Excalibur and the X-Men, all he did was go back to his old ways in the end. Telling Alison that would probably be a good 'I told you so' but Warren decides not to. Was Cain god damn Marko even worth fighting over? No.]

I see him the same way I see Sabretooth and the same way I see Magneto; they switch sides back and forth like it's going out of style, but I sure as hell don't like or trust them.

[Huh. She wants to argue a bit that Cain is a good guy. She knows it in her heart and that maybe if someone just helps him out a little, he can stay on that path. Except, the mention of Sabretooth throws her off.]

I---wait. Sabretooth's been on a team before?

X-Men.

[That causes his eyes to glow a little redder, and he digs his talons into the side of the building from where he's perched.]

Uhm.

[8| Well, okay. That kind of makes no sense given how much Wolverine hates him, or like--the Morlock Massacre? However, she notices the glow of his eyes, and frowns.]

...Never thought that'd happen.

Me neither. I wasn't there, though.

[And it would've been pretty damn ugly had he been.]

Point is, some assholes just don't deserve the chance. We're going to have to agree to disagree on that because I'm not changing my mind. Cain's a son of a bitch and I don't feel sorry for him in the slightest.

[Alison nods. Of course she doesn't agree on that last part, but she holds her tongue. Agreeing to disagree, yeah?]

We can agree to disagree, then. I don't want to fight about this anymore.

Fine.

[It comes out, again, like a bit of a grunt, and he's yet to make a move from his spot. He's still tense and pissy, and some nights his mood is so brought down that he can't help but let the beast out when he's alone. It's better than him going out and looking for criminals to slaughter because that urge is constantly there.]

Don't let me ruin the rest of your evening, then.

You're not.

[She glances over at him. She knows he's in one of his moods, but she doesn't want to leave him up here. She wants to try and see if she can help, a little.]

We can talk about something else. If you don't want me to just go inside, that is.

[He shrugs a bit, not really in the mood to converse with her. However, he refrains from telling her to go away.]

Like what.
