OPEN
WHO: OPEN
WHERE: The Clinic
WHEN: Yesterday through the end of the week
WARNINGS: to be added
SUMMARY: Aftermath log! People are hurt, other people help them out.
FORMAT: Paragraph to start, then whatever afterwards. Remember to tag in what day your thread takes place on!
The clinic's unusually busy. There's still a steady stream of people coming in with injuries, and everyone's working like crazy. The sound of footsteps is heavy and constant, and the scent of blood is in the air more strongly than usual. Hospital beds have been moved into every avaliable space, so the hallways are crowded. To keep track of all these people, there's enough paperwork beig shuffled around to bury a small elephant, and keeping supplies in stock has been a challenge.
The front desk has a woman directing different people where they need to go. The waiting room is full, but there's a steady trickle of people moving out of it and into hospital beds. And the staff break room has a steady supply of coffee going. The clinic may be running on too little staff, too little sleep, and too many injuries, but it's definitely still running.

Staff Break Room | Once a day, 4pmish.
So he's knocking at the door, delivery of about 20 box lunches on hand. Unlike his normal deliveries, this week's boxes are all the same: sweet potato rice with cooked vegetables and chicken katsu. Easy to make and easy to make in a large batches!
Someone want to let him in?
Re: Staff Break Room | April 20th, around 4pm
"Hmm?" Realizing she'd heard knocks at the door, she got up wearily to check and see who it was that needed to be let in.
"...hello," she greeted, expression and voice making it fairly apparent that she'd just been asleep. She was starting to get bags under her eyes, too, and her complexion was a little paler than normal. After finding out about Yusuke's death, she'd thrown herself fully into healing as her method of coping. As a result, Yukina had not been sleeping much.

But he put on a warm smile and said nothing. Pointing out the obvious wouldn't help and he was sure that like most people, if he suggested she go home and sleep, it would be just brushed off. It seemed to be a pretty common stubbornness with those working in the healing profession, after all.
"Hello, Yukina-chan! I brought lunches for everyone! Would you like one?"
Re: Staff Break Room | April 20th, around 4pm
Although some part of her knew she needed to get some real rest soon, eating well had seemed to help with maintaining her energy reserves. All the practice she had gotten also made her more adept at using her spirit energy efficiently for healing, too.

"How are you holding up? It's still pretty busy out there, isn't it?" he asked, tying his hair back and rolling up his sleeves as he headed to the sink to start cleaning up.

Fortunately, there were clean utensils to eat with. It seemed absurd to ask Bakura to wash something for her when she was capable of doing it herself.
"It is very busy still, yes," said Yukina. "I'm certainly getting a lot of practice. I've been learning more about medicine, too."

He'd always been too stressed and exhausted to really learn much when he had been working at the clinic past how many heals he could cast before he needed to rechange his MP.

It was somewhat tempting to shovel the food into her mouth, but that also wasn't appropriate around others. Yukina ate quickly, but in small dainty little bites.
"The food is quite good, by the way," she added. "Thank you for sharing it."

"Aa, thank you!" he smiled. "I was a little worried since there are a lot of people I'm cooking for this week so I'm going with really simple things I can do in bulk easily. I'm glad it still came out good!"

A 'bit' was an understatement, but Yukina knew that if she admitted to just how tired she really was, she'd probably be urged to go home and rest. As pleasant as that sounded, she couldn't rest in good conscience until people were at least mostly better.
"The food you've shared helps, though," she added. "As long as I eat well, I can handle all the healing."

She shook her head. She didn't know how people could mistake having money and being frightening for earning actual respect. There was more to it than that, but it seemed to be a common flaw shared by unpleasant people from multiple worlds.
