SUMMARY: Ness has a look at good lookin' toy shop and Bakura just happens to be there.
FORMAT: how bout some paragraphs? I like paragraphs.

Ness had been looking for a good toy shop to peruse since he had come to the City. Big stores didn't do it for him, mostly because of the sheer size, and the smaller shops he had seen just looked...dreary. It was nothing like Eagleland or anywhere else he had gone shopping in his own world, and he refused to settle for less.

He was pleasantly surprised, then, to pass a brightly colored toy shop on his daily walk. It had enough potential that, after staring for a moment, he smiled brightly and walked inside, pleased to see a healthy selection of all kinds of cool toys.

"Like a model of a town! Do you have something like that?" A project that big might make for a decent distraction from Ness' homesickness, and give him something to do on rainy days.

There was almost a sparkle in Bakura's grin. "Some things! But you'd really want a hobby shop for something like that. I build that sort of model all the time, so I know a few really good ones in the area."

"Can you show me what you have first?" It would only be right for Ness to buy something from this shop, since Bakura was so nice. And there was no doubt he'd be back another time for a look at the traditional toys.

"Sure!" Bakura grinned, getting up and heading over to the section. "And if you want, I can show you the model I'm working on, I have the completed sections in the back room."

"Cool!" Words weren't necessary to convey Ness' enthusiasm at this offer--he was radiating cheeriness as he followed Bakura through the shop.

Bakura grinned, waving his hand in invitation. "It's back this way!"

He headed to a side door labeled "Game Room B", pulling out his keys and unlocking it before flicking the lights on and holding the door open for Ness.

Inside was a rather large and detailed TRPG board. There were five towns plus a foreboding castle on the far end, mountains and forests and anything you could think to include on a TRPG board, all carefully hand crafted out of wood. Various figures were scattered through out, townspeople, monsters, generic hero figures and even animals.

Bakura had been working for many months on his board and it showed. As did his pride in it.

Ness slowly stepped around the board, examining it with obvious awe. He knew better than to touch this, of course, but he did lean in to see all the little details.

"Wow," was all he could think to say. He doubted anything he made would look that good!

Bakura's grin grew. "And see, you can take off the tops of the buildings like this..." He carefully lifted up the starting town's pub to show the room inside, populated with a few figures sitting around drinking from wooden mugs.

"You built all this? With that much detail?" That might just be admiration shining from Ness' eyes.

Bakura gave a nod, looking a bit embarrassed. "Un. I've been working on it a really long time! Everytime I think I'm done, I realize there's something more I want to make and keep working."

"I think it looks great." Ness smiled at him and managed his next question without even fidgeting.

"Can you show me how? I mean, maybe a few beginner's tips?"

"Sure!" Bakura grinned, setting the building back down. "I'd be glad to!"

Ness immediately folded his hands behind his back and gave Bakura his best 'I'm here, I'm listening, teach me' face.

He was ready!

Bakura blinked a moment before giving a small, almost embarrassed laugh. "Aa-- I don't hate the materials here to show, I only bring the finished parts here," he apologized. "I'd have to get them from my studio."

"Oh! I can come back!" Ness was so earnest. He already had a plan for what he was going to build, and he was excited to start.

"Un! I can bring them tomorrow and I can show you then!" Bakura smiled widely. "Aa, I'm Bakura Ryou, by the way! You can ask for me at the desk if you don't see me out front."

"I'm Ness!" He nodded very seriously. "I will, sir."

Bakura blinked a moment. The name was familiar...

"Aa- you don't have to call me sir! Just Bakura is fine!" he smiled.

"Okay, Mr. Bakura." Ness smiled up at him, sweet as ever. "I'll come back this time tomorrow, okay?"

"Aaa... -san jainai yo. Kore ga boku no tousan no namae..." Bakura near mumbled to himself awkwardly before translating. "You don't need the Mr. That's what people call my father, after all!" he translated with a small laugh, even more embarrassed to have slipped into Japanese for the moment.

Really, he knew Ness was just being polite, but...

That was odd, but it wasn't the strangest thing Ness had ever been asked to do.

"Okay, Bakura, if you insist."
