WHO: Wanda Maximoff and YOU (seriously, come play with me right now, yes I mean you)
WHERE: an open-air market, somewhere in The City
WHEN: at any point this afternoon
WARNINGS: none!
SUMMARY: Wanda has wandered off on her own and stumbled upon something a little more familiar.
FORMAT: quicklog, or whatever, I’m flexible
[Wanda had been reluctant to venture out of the MAC alone, but Pietro had not answered the door when she knocked, and she really should at least attempt navigation on her own, for once. Of course, having a destination in mind wouldn’t have hurt, but she was not far past the streets she had walked previously when she stumbled upon a delightful little open-air market, all squished-up between two towering brick structures.]
[With a pleased little smile playing about her features, Wanda slips into the crowd -- it is not so frightening as those on the streets were, somehow -- and proceeds to lose herself in the simple task of bargain-hunting.]

Likewise, Wanda.
[He tries to smile, but it's awkward. He's not the type. He steps aside a little as a woman pushes past them, making sure to not come in contact with anyone. Once is enough. He then looks up again and then nods.]
I am.

In this big city? Are you lost? Do you.. need help getting home, or- or somewhere?
no subject
I'm not lost.
[He tilts his head.] I'm just.. [He moves out of the way as another person walks past him.] Taking a walk.
no subject
If.. if you're sure, I suppose.
no subject
[He's not quite fond of people worrying about him, as well as not being used to it. He knows Lyra and the other kids worry, but they know him now, so it's not really such a mystery any more. Miharu and Yukimi used to worry too. Strangers though, they have no reason to worry about him.]
It's not so strange for people to be out on their own, is it? You are, too.
no subject
Yes, I am. It's actually the first time I've been out by myself.. I'm a little nervous, to be honest. I hope.. I mean, I know it is not customary to talk to strangers, in this place, but back home, I knew everyone- [She catches herself and flusters slightly.] Oh, listen to me, blathering on. You must be terribly bored.
no subject
I'm not.
[He tries to smile a little again, to assure her he's not bored.]
no subject
I only just.. ah, arrived here, you see. From Transia -- I mean, a small country in Europe. I'm still getting used to living in such a big city.
[She shifts again, readjusting her basket.]
Have you lived here your whole life?
no subject
[He looks thoughtful.] I'm sure you'll get used to it though.
[He got used to living in a kinda big place too, then again, he kind of had to. Then again, when he thinks about it, it wasn't really got used to, but more like learned to tolerate. He decides to keep that to himself.]
No... [He remembers that people don't like those who came here through the Porter, so he decides to keep that to himself as well for now.] I'm from Japan. I haven't been here that long either.
no subject
I suppose I will find things I like about it -- ideally, ones that will compensate for the things I don't.
[She pauses.] Japan? Really? That is awfully far.. and your English is quite good, considering.
no subject
[He nods his head, though it's much further than she thinks. Then again, he also can't ever go back.]
Yeah.. Thanks. [He wouldn't call his English that good. He just had time to learn and besides, living somewhere where most people only speak English tends to help a lot.]
[He turns his head to the side for a moment as he covers his mouth, coughing a little. Mostly because his throat hurts from talking too much. He's still not quite used to it.]
no subject
Are you feeling alright?
no subject
... Just tired from talking too much. Not used to it.
no subject
I.. don't think talking is supposed to be exhausting.
no subject
[He knows it's unusual, but for him who tries to talk as little as possible, talking usually makes his throat hurt and makes him sort of tired. He figures that's just how he is.]
[He does notice that she seems worried though.]
... It's nothing to worry about.
no subject
When was the last time you saw a doctor?
no subject
... I don't need to see one.
no subject
If.. if you're sure. Just -- consider it, maybe?
no subject
[He's honest about that. When it's necessary for him to see a doctor, when his condition worsens to where he needs medication to live and to keep the pain at bay, then he will. Until then, even if he does feel a little sick, it's nothing he's too worried about.]
[While he might be good at ignoring his illnesses though, hunger is not something he likes to ignore. And right now he's so hungry that his stomach is growling and he frowns again.]
... I should go.
no subject
Do you have enough food, where you are going?
no subject
I do.
[And with that, he starts walking past her, though pauses briefly and glances at her.]
Goodbye.
