WHO: Dr.Drakken and Seras Victoria.
WHERE: Drakken's Ice Cream Parlor
WHEN: Evening of the 16th.
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Seras finally locates Drakken to ask him some questions about Shego
FORMAT: Para
Seras was impatient as she had to wait till sundown to act on the information she'd found. She paced her flat back, and forth as she waited. The second the sun went down she was out the door, and headed to the ice cream parlor where she'd heard she might find Dr.Drakken. It seemed like a nice enough place. Not one where you exactly expected to find someone who associated with criminals. She pulled out her notebook to double check that it was the right place. It was. More than anything right now she didn't want to let Mr.Bauer down again.
With her resolve collected she stepped through the doors. A quick survey to make sure she wasn't about to be ambused and then pulled her badge out . Making sure to be loud enough the place could here her she announced, "I'm Officer Victoria, and I'm looking for a Dr.Drakken. Has anyone here seen him?"

"What? I'm very busy in here!"
Then he has a chance to take her in - and the decided edge of 'Police' about her manner and clothing.
"Oh. Hah, umm...how can I help you, officer?"

"I...heard."
And for a split second, he doesn't hide the sadness behind a grim face. Then he clears his throat, opening the door to his office.
"We can talk in here."

He sits down at his desk, leaning back in the high-backed chair. And he isn't smiling.
"Well, might as well get started with your questions."

"I don't have a clue what the Porter wants. I've had no dealings with...well, whatever it is. And I ran into her a while ago, but that's all - she was, at this point, no longer in my employ, you understand."
And he isn't terse with her. Well, more than the fact that she's with the police. He has...something of a wary instinct about them now.
"I'm not even sure who her current employer is. Didn't really care." He lies, not at all smoothly.
hehe thank you for this thread
Thanks to you as well!
"There wasn't anything! She showed up, mocked me half to death, and that was it! The same as usual. And she barely told me anything when I paid her to keep me in the loop."
He sighs, rubbing his temples.
"Look, Shego was always secretive. The only times you could tell something was wrong were the exceedingly rare times she wasn't angry about something or mocking something else. I tended to bring out both of those in her."
no subject
She knew it would probably turn up nothing, but she had to try.
no subject
"Well, there may be. But I'm about as far from that as you can possibly get. Heh, I might be the precise opposite, in fact. Shego never really did the 'friends' thing. The best you can hope for are people she tolerated."
He shrugs.
"Maybe whoever she was working for had a safe house or something? I dunno."
no subject
Standing up she turned to leave.
no subject
"Wait a minute."
He gestures for her to sit back down. He sits as well, tapping her card on the desk.
"I want to help you guys out. Our tech company is new, but I've got something you can make use of."
And he does. At a small profit - a deliberately small profit - but it advances two important goals: brings him closer to the investigation and also brings some badly needed PR to the fledgling Legi-Tech.

"What is it?"
no subject
He folds his hands, leaning in.
"I have these...helpers. Back in the old days. Now, I didn't think anyone would really care about what happened to Shego...was going to take things into my own hands. So, I started improving the design."
He leans back now, finally smiling. Pride in his work.
"I'd like to offer them to you as riot police. I can give you a demonstration, if you'd like."
He reads the look on her face and decides it is her somewhat scoffing at the concept.
"I assure you I can beat any price."

"You'd have a better opinion of them, then. Look, I'll be honest. Selling to the police is a good thing. Our company is still new, so it'd be great for us to have a police contract."
But at last he catches on to her nervousness.
"Oh, I don't want you to commit to buy or anything, but...well, you seem to care about what happened to Shego. So you might be...the right sort of copper. Maybe you could take a look and pass the word on?"
no subject
Hopefully it wouldn't take long. She needed to report to Bauer.

It is tall, broad shouldered. Dark red shoulders and head, with straight, clean lines. The rest of the uniform is mostly black, whith some of that same dark red mixed in. But the face...the face consists of a mask with a speaker grille, and a pair of goggles, revealing only glowing green where eyes should be.
"They're called Syntho-Drones. Robotic, but without any hardened exoskeleton - meaning they are incredibly flexible. The synthetic goo inside contains nano technology that allows movement and programming. Now, they're all given basic martial arts programming, of course."
He looks proudly at his creation.
"But this...is version 2.0, if you will. Hardened kevlar weave for the skin, meaning they're more durable than the originals. They'll stop a bullet or most hand weapons - though they're still a bit dodgy about energy weapons. But I am working on that. Maybe something with a reflective coating, whatever."
He waves his hand, looking at her.
"But the key thing is: they're cheap. And far better to have their heads in danger of bashing on a riot line than live police officers."
no subject
She walks up to the thing, and pokes at it with a finger. There was something about robots that just didn't feel like proper coppering to her. "Also their kind of scary looking. Usually we're trying to calm people down in a riot."
no subject
"You can program them for policing easily enough. And the thing is...they don't eat, they don't sleep. They can stay on a line for days if you need them to."
He waves away the appearance bit.
"And you can redesign the outside appearance. That's easy enough. Design them however you wish on the outside. And given some of the enemies you guys have been facing, from what I've heard? You may need help that can't be intimidated, shot dead, or eaten."
no subject
"Also do you have a quote I can show him? In case he actually decides to order these...things." Even if she didn't really enjoy hearing a pitch she'd at least get everything she needed so the Chief could make a proper decision.
no subject
"They're cheap per unit, and I can offer a price break on bulk orders."
Hs writes down a final number, per one hundred units, circling it twice decisively.
"That ought to cover it. I'd charge a private firm triple."
no subject
"Thank you Doctor. I'll see he gets it. If there's nothing else I'd like to get going. A lot of work still to be done. Thank you again for your time."
She didn't want to be rude of course, but she really did need to report in with Bauer. Not that she was looking forward to it. Had to be done though.
no subject
"Good luck with your investigation. I hope you find whoever did this. I'll help in any way I can."
no subject
After she left the first thing she did was call Bauer.
