WHO: Sort of open. This is for of Themyscira-Zatara Family & friends.
WHERE: Diana and Zee's place and elsewhere.
WHEN: Throughout December.
WARNINGS: Enough of them.
SUMMARY: Cute winter holiday stuff. Please specify in the subject line if your threads are open or closed (and if they are closed, to which people).
FORMAT: Whatever you feel like.
[Come December first, Zatanna's already done a number on the house. Mostly in that she has finally relinquished her death-grip on the spooky Halloween mansion that it had been for Halloween (that had morphed into Thankschilling Day).
By the eighth, she has given up on normalcy and forced snow upon the house itself and the front and backyards; it is natural and cold and wet to the touch. More importantly, it's clean. It doesn't melt much or get sloshy and muddy. The forest she'd created for Halloween remains, though not overgrown. The air is sweet with the smell of pine, but not thickly so. She's cleared it out a little, made it easier to navigate. There is now plenty of room for building snow people and snow forts, in addition to the occasional snowball fight.
The inside of the house no longer (quite as) spooky. The fireplace in the living room seems to permanently be full of logs and remains lit even when no one is home. Halfway through the month, a pine tree also appears, growing through some dimensional wormhole so it remains real without having to cut one down. The dining room has a warm glow from candles and wall sconces and the kitchen seems to always have some wonderful smell wafting from it.
There is a fat orange Persian walking around, dressed as a reindeer. It doesn't seem perturbed by its costume and appears quite content, although trying to curl up and sleep almost anywhere in between desired pettings. Hermes has become more mellowed out since Halloween (and much larger, too) and only wears antlers on his head. Teekl and Gabranth declined to join the festivities.
This holiday season is going to be good. Or, hopefully at least much better than last year's.]

Despite the fact that he's been here plenty of times, it doesn't mean he really gets what he should be doing right about now. Christmas isn't his holiday, ok. ]

James is, naturally, walking around with an alcoholic beverage in hand (spiced cider, just to keep it festive) and out of his suit, but then again a lack of a suit isn't entirely unusual when he's dossing around at Zee's.
James emerges from some random room just slightly behind Mitch, approaches and offers up a hearty back slap that's mostly just for dickish purposes.]
To what do we owe the pleasure?
no subject
James fuckin' Bond, so you're still hanging around, huh? How you been?
no subject
Confused. How about yourself, Mitch? Keeping Bradbury busy?
no subject
Confused, huh? I'm as well as you know, usual. [ Which meant he was, as usual, working himself to death. Christmas be damned. ]

She lets him sweat it out for a bit before approaching him in a festive cocktail dress, one drink in each hand; highball glasses, so hopefully it's something good.] Look what the cat dragged in.
[(Not literally, Gaster and Mrs. Mistofelees are too busy curled up, sleeping on a chair in the living room.)]
no subject
Thankfully, they haven't done any dragging yet. You did lock them up, right? I don't want to walk in a room to hissing.
no subject
They're in the living room. If you're really so worried, I'll confine them to the upstairs. [She did that with Hermes just because he's so big and still sometimes jumps on people. He's still in the puppy stage in some ways.]
no subject
Really, after being attacked by his handler's dog, and lions, and tigers, and bears, who can blame him for being cautious around animals. ]
Nice party, by the way. I like what you've done with the place.

Yo!

[ It was a surprised noise. Mitch wasn't used to kids approaching him, especially kids who seemed to peer up at him, so he was caught entirely by surprise, before he finally caught his footing and his words, and answered the kid with more than just an exclamation. ]
Can I help you?
no subject
Uh, no, I think I'm chill. You need my help?
no subject
[ This entire conversation? Going to be one long circle of confusion. Mitch doesn't know why the kid's offering, but hey, that's some politeness, so he gives him a wan smile. ]
Do I look that miserable? [ He curbs the normal urge to add an expletive in there out of some sense of duty to being a responsible adult. ]

Blink twice if you're being held against your will.

[ He pauses, eyeing her phone with distaste before he finally pipes up with something a bit more on par with how they usually interacted. ]
If that isn't deleted in twenty seconds, I'm deleting it for you. And that's not being sold or uploaded online, either.
no subject
[The phone is slipped away (for now), the photo very much undeleted. It's Christmas. Maybe she can get away with just a little more...than the normal obscene amount of things she gets away with.]
Like. One of your capture and forced enjoyment of mortal festivities.
no subject
It's just him looking as awkward as usual. He gives her a "look" in response. ]
I know it's fucking shocking, but I think you'll be surprised to know that I actually enjoy parties.

Evening, kiddo.
no subject
I trust you are well? (seeing as hell hasn't frozen over and mitch is here, rather than city hall.)
no subject
Of course. See, I'm even getting out of the office? I'm sure someone around here is about to have a heart attack when they find out I actually have legs and don't just sit behind a desk all fucking day.

Ah, Ned, was it? [ He gives him a quick, pleasant smile. ]
Yeah, Zee is a friend of mine, I think she'd kill me if I didn't show up.
no subject
[he clears his throat, slowwwllyyy starting over.] It is Ned. I wasn't sure you'd remember.
no subject
[ He doesn't really get why Ned is so jumpy, but he gives him the benefit of the doubt, and just offers him his hand to shake. ]
Having fun?
