WARNINGS: The Doctor is in charge of the fireworks. Enough said.
SUMMARY: Wherein the Doctor and Jack spend all their money on a big old party! Sorry Ian -_-;
FORMAT: Whatever folks want! It's a free for all!

The Doctor hopped around the house making sure everything was to his satisfaction. There were streamers and balloons filling every nook and cranny and all of it was especially tacky and wonderful! Humans sure knew how to make decoration!!

The small backyard managed to fit two bounce houses (a castle and a water based bounce house), and inflatable pool entirely too small for adults, and the grills. There was the danger of someone bouncing into the pool but the Doctor saw that as more opportunity for fun! Inside there was food on every flat surface and downstairs where once the aquacat pool was now was ready for dancing! Even if no one showed the Doctor was going to have a good time!

Of course the real show started at sundown with the Doctor's own firework show helped along with human gunpowder and Time Lord know-how. Hope someone has the fire department on speed dial!

She shrugs before she can say something embarrassing like, 'yes' or 'it's better than being in my awful apartment alone with my sister.' "I hadn't really gotten thinky about it. At least, not too much. ..You?"

"For as long as I can." She thinks this is one of the few occasions people will keep the same hours as her. She's ready to take full advantage of it. "I don't have to be in bed until dawn comes."

"Same here, and maybe a little after that." She offers a smile, still a little awkward. "Do you want to go sit?" She gestures vaguely.

"I'd love to." Shahrazad walks toward the nearest place to sit and pats the spot next to her.

Buffy drops down next to her, smiling slightly. "Are you here alone?"

Shahrazad shakes her head. "I came here with Ned and Digby. They were both so sweet. They waited until nightfall so they could escort me here."

"Are those friends of yours? I haven't met them." She considers this a moment, remembering something about pie. Buffy loves pie. "Isn't that the pie-guy?"

"Yes! They are my friends!" She couldn't sound prouder of that fact. "That would be Ned, yes. He makes the most wonderful pies."

"Pie can never be a bad thing. Do you think he brought any with him?" She was already getting hungry again, staring down into her beer.

Shahrazad nods. "I know he did! Would you like me to get some for you, Buffy?"

"Oh, um." She blinks, nodding. "Sure. Thank you."

"I'll be one moment." She is. A few moment later she has slices for both of them. "Here!"

"This looks good." She takes the plate, moving to give Shahrazad more room, going to immediately dig in.

Shahrazad sits next to her, eating politely. "It always is. He's very talented."

Buffy doesn't know what eating politely means. "I can think of no greater thing to be talented in. The last time I tried to cook anything they had to call the firepeople."

"Really? Was anyone hurt?" She suspects not since Buffy seems fine but, it never hurt to ask.

"Nope. But the kitchen was singled a little." She's saying this cheerfully around a bite of pie.

That was troubling. Again Buffy seems so fine with it. Shahrazad can't bring herself to raise a big fuss over. "Here's to hoping your kitchen fairs better in the future?"

"Thanks, but I think I'll just stay away from it for the forseeable future. Except for the microwave. That I can handle." A beat. "Usually."

"You have trouble with that too?" That's even more troubling. "Perhaps you need a class?"

She blinks. "I think I'll make it. Cooking's never really been a thing of pursuance for me. Is that a word, pursuance? Oh well, I just pursued the heck out of that ance, anyway."

Shahrazad laughs. She has no idea what an ance is but, it sounds amusing. "It is a word. I've never heard of 'ance' on its own though."

"I think today should be the ance debut: the debut of the ance." It's not like Buffy has any idea what she's talking about so why not drink more. "It sounds wordlike enough to me."

"Me too," Shahrazad agrees cheerfully. "What will ance mean?" Clearly Buffy is the expert.

"An onslaught of ants? ...No, that's icky. It should be something nice like: a sunny disposition."
