Big Bang Three!

WHO: [livejournal.com profile] daft_old_man and EVERYONE!
WHERE: The TARDIS house
WHEN: Forward dated to July 4th
WARNINGS: The Doctor is in charge of the fireworks. Enough said.
SUMMARY: Wherein the Doctor and Jack spend all their money on a big old party! Sorry Ian -_-;
FORMAT: Whatever folks want! It's a free for all!

The Doctor hopped around the house making sure everything was to his satisfaction. There were streamers and balloons filling every nook and cranny and all of it was especially tacky and wonderful! Humans sure knew how to make decoration!!

The small backyard managed to fit two bounce houses (a castle and a water based bounce house), and inflatable pool entirely too small for adults, and the grills. There was the danger of someone bouncing into the pool but the Doctor saw that as more opportunity for fun! Inside there was food on every flat surface and downstairs where once the aquacat pool was now was ready for dancing! Even if no one showed the Doctor was going to have a good time!

Of course the real show started at sundown with the Doctor's own firework show helped along with human gunpowder and Time Lord know-how. Hope someone has the fire department on speed dial!

It takes a couple seconds for Peter to realize that somebody's actually talking to him. Somebody's that... never spoken to him before, which makes him look all the more apologetic for being momentarily oblivious. Noting Dawn's position, he looks towards the source of the greeting.

"Hey," Peter works himself up to an actual smile, ducking his face as he stifles a laugh. "Not really, no. I've never really been."

Teddy honestly doesn't mind the momentary obliviousness. His boyfriend is Billy, he's used to someone being a little oblivious the first few moments. He glances over towards where Dawn is too, just curious where Peter was looking.

"Never? I run into a lot of guys that have never really been to parties," he remarks with a little chuckle. "That's no reason to not enjoy this one though," he adds. He then offers a hand. "I'm Teddy. It's nice to meet you."

Content to leave Dawn to her own things, Peter figured the girl could keep herself safe enough for a period of time, before giving in and turning his full attention onto the other.

Face to face introductions seemed hard to come by around here, anyway, and it was the best Peter could do to take advantage of one while it was here. Shaking Teddy's hand, he gave a nod of greeting. "You too- I'm Peter. At least it's not the worst party i've ever been to. And it's not a fundraiser, can't get much worse than those."

If he knew it was a concern, Teddy would have assured Peter that Dawn would be okay. It was a party full of super people and she even seemed to have powers of her own according to the Network.

Teddy would be happy to get some face to face meetings in as well. "You went to a lot of fundraisers where you're from or is that something you get stuck in here?" he asked curiously.

It wasn't so much an actual concern as it was... a habit, though Peter wasn't entirely sure. Trust wasn't something that came inherently to him anymore, not that he wanted to admit to that. But the fact that Buffy had run off and left him on his lonesome, made it easier to believe everyone was as safe as they came.

"I.. used to go to a lot as a kid. My family was big into politics. Among other things. Held a lot of boring parties at our house." He shrugged, keeping his tone bordering on light, conversational.

"Oh, sounds like it was boring," Teddy replied. "Sounds like when my mom used to drag me along to open houses or office things," he smiled. "Was really boring," he remarked. There was a pause before the blond smiled again. "This party is definitely better than any of them though."

"Definitely, yeah." For a moment, Peter contemplated all the other things he could possibly say about fundraisers and politics and the ridiculous mansion he grew up in. But talking about himself wasn't something he was particularly good at doing anymore, so he shifted topics, mirroring the casual smile. "So, how long've you been here?"

"In the City? Since around May," Teddy replied. "Apparently there was another me here before that though. It's kind of weird thinking that there are people here that might know things about me but I wouldn't have any idea who they were," he admitted. There was a moment of pause before Teddy smiled again and looked to Peter. "What about you? How long has it been since you arrived here in the City?"

It took him a moment, staring off at nothing while he tried to remember when exactly he'd shown up here. "Same, actually. On both counts." Pressing his lips together, he manages to look from looking too perturbed by the idea that he'd been here before and been made to forget, or another version of himself had. He just wasn't sure which idea he liked less.

"Maybe it was me who was here before, and something made me forget."

"Maybe it's a time travel thing," Teddy remarked hopefully. "Taking the same you but a few seconds before the last one?" he shrugged. "I really don't know. An old friend of mine would have some better theories and ideas on it," he added. Teddy wasn't sure which of the ideas he disliked more either.
