[ Irene notices, but she does little to acknowledge it other than keeping her lips turned up. Then she nods. ]

Yes, thank you. [ pausing, she turns to glance behind her. ] Shall I take a seat anywhere?

[ She nods, turning to find an open table not too far. Close enough that she can still speak to him while he fixes her order. ]

I see it gets to be quite busy in here. You've really established yourself. How long has it been?

Technically, since last Summer. I've been... away. [he answers her from the kitchen before bringing out her mince and a fresh cup of tea.]

[ Irene's head perks up slightly with interest as she lifts her eyes, one hand reaching out to take the tea from him. There's double meaning in that, and she's curious. He did mention returning home once before. ]

[There's a beat's worth of hesitation but then he nods.] When I went... home, Zatanna took care of the place.

[ She sips her tea with a small nod before letting it rest on the table. ]

That's right, you said time stops back home. So, what else happened? If I can ask, of course. Could you remember it all?

[ The mince pie gets her attention next as she slides the plate closer toward her. But her eyes are on Ned, interested. ]

I couldn't remember this place, no... And the letters I had written to... home, vanished when I got there.

They reappeared inside my jacket when I came back here again. [The memories being crammed inside his head weren't as pleasant an experience as chasing down approximately 240 letters in a sudden windstorm.]
