[True to his word, Stephen makes the short trek from Bleecker Street to the Pie Hole, arriving just slightly before ten. Apparently he'd over estimated the complexities of closing with his single remaining part time associate. It doesn't make him any keener on keeping the stop longer than necessary, but it is comforting to know that even someone as old, stubborn, and spoilt as him is capable of doing actual work, when it's required. Naturally, he'd prefer Zoidberg simply appear and reclaim his old job of course. That would be the simplest solution. Ah well.

Glancing through the window of the establishment curiously, Stephen tabs on the glass as instructed earlier, waiting for a response.]

[The lack of light, is charming rather than any sort of impediment to his senses and Stephen appreciates the ambiance. Smiling, he nods once, politely reciprocating the greeting.]

I did. Thank you again for having me so late. I confess that the promise of tea carried me through the latter half of the day.

Please. [Stephen patiently waits at the entrance as the Ned locks up, with every intention of following behind his host when they move on.] And I've no doubt your tea will be an improvement on whatever I can make. It seems I'm simply gifted at over steeping.

May I ask how long you've had this place?

[Stephen leans up comfortably perching at the bar and setting his greyish brown felt fedora down on its crown next to him.] Nearly two years now. I like to think our captor has grown fond of me. [He glances around again, admiring the space.]

I can't believe Zatanna hasn't discovered you yet.

Did she? [Stephen seems genuinely surprised, but then, he has a tendency of becoming a hermit and he had actively been avoiding her for a while.] I'll have to tell her how offended I am that she never had the courtesy to bring me here.

[Gratefully, he takes his cup, raising it slightly to Ned before jostling the tea back around a little in the hot water.]

We've maintained a friendship over the years. [Although that friendship got sort of strained by mutual flirtation and bad life decisions, and her now being effectively married, but he's not about to get into all that. Not without something else in the tea, at least.] When I first arrived here, she took me to a diner for pie, actually. Since then, the smell has always vaguely reminded me of her.
