SUMMARY: Ned invites the whole City to the Pie Hole. He and Zatanna are cooking and baking everything (there are meat and meatless options), but feel free to bring a favorite from home!

[From the outside, the Pie Hole hasn't changed much, though the window is draped in elaborate snowflake-shaped lights, but inside is a whole other story. Zatanna has made quite a spectacle of the place, a huge banquet hall filled with long and short tables for enjoying your meal with any number of friends. And the decorations are outrageous. Ned's Christmas decorations, which were already over-the-top have all been magically enhanced and Thanksgivingsized like little crystalline pumpkin baubles and overspilling cornucopia on each buffet table, lined up in front of the kitchen. Ned is firmly putting his foot down this year: no one is to enter his kitchen but Zee or himself.

He'll be serving regular pie menu as well as breakfast (frittatas) until twelve noon at which point there will be an hour or two for people to arrive and mingle. The food will be out by 1:30-2 pm and dessert to be served at 3 pm. Ned just wants everyone to have a great day so come in and make yourself at home!! There are a few kegs as well if you all didn't listen and byob...]

[He grunts his reply, rolling his eyes just slightly.] Nn, I'm sure she does. It's the only reason I'm here.

[Oh :( more sincere now,] Is something wrong?

You don't honestly think I'm here for the family get together, do you? Or the commercial American holiday, perhaps? [Really now :|]

I know why you're here. You just told me. [he blinks, doing things for your girlfriend is supposed to make you feel good he doesn't understand!!!!]

Then you know what's wrong already! [Honestly, Ned, ask stupid questions and you get stupid answers.]

Alright, alright! [He leans back a little.] Are you sure I can't get you anything?

You can go out and get me another bottle of wine. [There's probably a store nearby, right?]

I can't exactly leave... oh! But I think there's one in the kitchen. [a beat] Zatanna hid it.

[calling back over his shoulder,] I'll be right back.

[He quirks a brow as he watches Ned shoot off, finishing off his glass of wine with a curious sip. Zee won't mind Bond drinking all her alcohol, he's sure of it.]

[onetouch]

[he comes back a short time later, though he did have to fight a few crowds to get back in a timely fashion. he's breathing just a little hard when he sets the uncorked bottle down and throws himself into the seat next to James.]

There you are, I'm not very educated on wines, but I'm pretty sure it's a good one.

[Bond hasn't moved, if only because he's trying to avoid mingling.]

Ah, good man! [Very good, in fact. This looks like a decent bottle. James will be sure to save a glass for Zee, but he's gonna be drinking most of it.]

Are you having a glass?

Oh... maybe just one. [James what have you done.] It couldn't hurt, right?

That's the spirit. [Grabbing the nearest empty glass and filling it right up. If it's only to be one glass, it's gonna be a big one.]

Savour it. That bottle probably costs more than your entire wardrobe.

[onetouch]

[He's about to protest when he sees just how high James is filling that glass. Oh dear.] I don't drink very often...

It's only wine. [He scoffs lightly, pushing the glass towards Ned, then pouring his own.]

[onetouch]

[He was already regretting this, but he picked up his glass and swished the wine around a little. It was only a glass of wine, what could happen.] I suppose you're right.

And it's a good wine, too. [And probably a lot stronger than your average off the shelf shit.]

It is...aromatic. [and now he's sipping it, giiiinngerrlyyy]

[James takes a savouring sip of his own glass, nodding a slow approval before glancing back to Ned.] And?

[onetouch]

And it's... wine. Very good wine. [he looks petrified] To be honest, I'm better with the unfermented counterpart known simply as, the grape.

You just need to get a better taste for it. You're not doing too badly, though. [He believes in you Ned. He believes! Luckily he's only giving one glass out anyway, because he wants a second glass for himself, and that only leaves a glass left for Zee...]

[onetouch]

I appreciate that, it's just... [he interrupts himself with another long sip.] It's just nothing. Today is a day for rest and relaxation, right?

Exactly. Rest, relaxation and wine. Enjoy the holidays. They only come once a year and we might not even be here next year. [James is all for celebrating each day as if it's his last.]

That's a little morbid. [but he kind of likes the sentiment, so he drinks to it]

Mm, possibly. Or perhaps I merely mean us leaving this place, rather than death. [But usually he just means death. All the dying.]
