TURKEY DAY AT THE PIE HOLE II

WHO: Ned and Digby and you and you and you and all your closest friends
WHERE: The Pie Hole pie restaurant and bakeshop
WHEN: Thanksgiving Day, November 22 8am - November 23 1am (he'lll stick around for any stragglers tho)
WARNINGS: Shouldn't be any...
SUMMARY: Ned invites the whole City to the Pie Hole. He and Zatanna are cooking and baking everything (there are meat and meatless options), but feel free to bring a favorite from home!
FORMAT: quick/spam; make your own threads for your own people or table. on open threads estimate the time of arrival.
NO ONE IS EVER LATE!!!!!

[From the outside, the Pie Hole hasn't changed much, though the window is draped in elaborate snowflake-shaped lights, but inside is a whole other story. Zatanna has made quite a spectacle of the place, a huge banquet hall filled with long and short tables for enjoying your meal with any number of friends. And the decorations are outrageous. Ned's Christmas decorations, which were already over-the-top have all been magically enhanced and Thanksgivingsized like little crystalline pumpkin baubles and overspilling cornucopia on each buffet table, lined up in front of the kitchen. Ned is firmly putting his foot down this year: no one is to enter his kitchen but Zee or himself.

He'll be serving regular pie menu as well as breakfast (frittatas) until twelve noon at which point there will be an hour or two for people to arrive and mingle. The food will be out by 1:30-2 pm and dessert to be served at 3 pm. Ned just wants everyone to have a great day so come in and make yourself at home!! There are a few kegs as well if you all didn't listen and byob...]

A, ah, pie-purist? [ The word comes out skeptical. He's not quite sure what the fuck that means, really. Like, who uses the words pie purist? ]

What the fuck is a pie purist?

[ He would find it endearing. Like most people around. Maybe. When they weren't pissed at him. ]

Well, I guess there's the novelty factor. Does it actually make the pies taste better?

Ah. Well, I'll warn you, I'm a big supporter of mechanical help. [ A beat like he's waiting for the joke, but after a moment, he goes on. ]

I'm sure they're delicious.

LKLSDFKSLADJSDLJAFsdf IT'S ADORABLE

Shit, I'm sure it won't. [ He gives him a wry grin. ]

I think me eating here is probably going to be endorsement enough, but if they're as good as everyone says they are, well... [ He shrugs and makes a little gesture. As if to say "sure". ]
viced: (Shit eating)

[personal profile] viced 2012-11-28 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, so you want an official endorsement? [ He grinned, just a touch wide, a touch sharp. It was almost, almost a shit-eating grin, but there was something about it that might have had a touch of amusement in there too. ]

Hm, I mean, if you're catering me for it, that might make me a little less likely to give you one. You'll really have to exceed my expectations to get it now.

Oh, I am? [ He watched his hand for just a moment, but doesn't take it. It didn't look like he was trying to shake his hand, and that was just fine with the Mayor. ]

So, what's the idea I'm supposed to be getting?
viced: (Mysterious Stranger)

[personal profile] viced 2012-11-30 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He tips his head. ]

Wait, really? This isn't just you being coy or anything? You just have no idea where you want to go with this shit?
viced: (fucking winston?)

[personal profile] viced 2012-12-03 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ He laughs. Because it's always funny when people try to echo his language and sound uncomfortable with it. ]

You said there might be an advantage. I mean, if your coffee's good, maybe we could get something from here for a board meeting or two.

I'm sure our native members would be pleasantly surprised.
viced: (Nobody wins)

[personal profile] viced 2012-12-05 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Shit, if it's working, you might be able to get something from us yet. [ He smiled, but even so, he could hear the espresso machine, and if he were a more creepy bastard, he would tell Ned that he knew how underused the poor thing was. He wasn't that kind of person, though. ]

I'm sure with the right networking, we could convince some natives that it's a great place to heat.
viced: (Excuse me who's mayor again?)

[personal profile] viced 2012-12-06 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Shit, anything for my fellow imports. We need every scrap of good press we can get, and yes, that includes good businesses doing good things.
viced: (I don't get you)

[personal profile] viced 2012-12-09 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, good. That's what I'm here for. [ He says it with a wry smile. ]
