SUMMARY: Damian told Nill she wasn't prepared for war, and she's determined to show him differently.

[The field is huge, without cover, and blanketed in snow. To anyone passing by before ten in the morning, it looks serene and beautiful. But as soon as the clock strikes that special hour, two imports with something to prove take to the field to shake hands and wish each other the best. In what?

Snow war.

Pick your side or make your own side, take prisoners or show no mercy; this is more or less a free-for-all. Who will be victorious? Nobody has a clue. As long as Damian gets whapped in the face by at least one snowball, everything will end up just fine.

Team suggestions are just that: suggestions. If you want your character to defect, start their own team, etc. please feel free! And start any new thread headers you want, these were just some Hallie suggested. Have fun!]

[Jade's got her little "hospital" set up. There's plenty of hot cocoa to go around for anyone that wants it and blankets too just in case anyone gets too cold. She's pretty much just waiting around on stand by to help out anyone that needs it.

Also no funny business in the neutral zone. The area's meant for peace you guys!]

[Calvin is tired after his absurd fort-building spree. Some cocoa would really hit the spot right about now. He more or less stumbles into the 'hospital' and lurches for the nearest cup of hot cocoa.]

[Jade's too quick, she's immediately sweeping Calvin over to a sitting area with a blanket. Once that's done she pours him a mug of cocoa.]

Do you want marshmallows or whipped cream?

<sub>( Damian is veritably caked in snow--it's in his hair and all over his coat, his cheeks are bright red and his hands are shaking. It's shameful, yes, but he decides to seek a moment's respite.

Still, he stands off to one side, arms crossed over his chest as though he doesn't want to be there. )</sub>

[Jade stares at Damian for a moment before making him a mug of cocoa. Which she brings to him along with a blanket. She smiles as he holds both out to him.]

Here, these should help. I um, don't know if you want marshmallows or whipped cream in your cocoa. I can get that if you want.

[Okay, he isn't "injured" or anything, but that cocoa looks good and he wants an excuse to talk to Jade]

How are the patients, doctor?

[Jade's fast about getting that cocoa ready for him. There's also a blanket if he wants it.]

There haven't been that many really. Seems people are really good at avoiding the injuries out there.

[ Kate's come with a medical kit, with just enough supplies just in case somebody gets hurt during the game. Well, it may be a game, but given how competitive some people can get (Damian) Kate opted to play it safe. No telling how things will turn out.

Remember baseball from spring? A harmless game gone wrong. ]

[Spike is bleeding. Kind of profusely?? He got a little too into this game. Or maybe he just ran into/fell out of one too many trees.]

I hear you're the village medic. [Plus he innately trusted women with red hair.]

[ What the hell. Kate's eyes grow larger upon seeing all that blood. ]

[ Bucky's taking this real serious— he'd wanted to dress up all in white for the element of surprise, but he didn't own any white things that weren't t-shirts and they got cold and stuck to him after a couple minutes out in the snow. So he had to scratch that plan.

He was proud, however, of the advantage he'd gotten by scrambling up a treetrunk. Good visibility, the higher strategical ground. He could bail out easy if he got caught, there were a lot of places for a body to fall. Not that he was thinking about falling. Not that Bucky was afraid of heights in the least no sir.

The one problem with being up so high was that he didn't have much snow to throw down at people. So he had to make every bit of it count.]

[Kate is bundled up in her dark colored winter coat, having selected a wooded area to patrol on her own. With her superhuman eyesight she's bound to spot any enemies attempting to invade, but unfortunately she isn't looking up for them. She has a small supply of pre-constructed snowballs, however, and she is determined to smoke out any enemies in her path.]

[Ah hah! There's a mark. Bucky knows he's only got one chance to throw a snowball before Kate starts pelting him something frigid, so he spends a while gumming up the perfect projectile. For a few seconds there— not afraid of heights at all no sir not him— it's tricky to balance.

But when he's got the thing all packed up tight, he can throw it like a baseball. Curved but true.

He thinks.]

[ Tavros is just no good at this stuff. if it were a video game, sure. but this? with real people? requiring on his own tactics and physical prowess? no.

he's technically on Nill's team but he's created a space for himself in the no-man's land, accumulating supplies for both sides. they're supposed to be for his allies but he's not really sure exactly who those are and who's taking what but there's a veritable arsenal of snowballs just ripe for the gathering.

_{( Damian knows an open target when he sees one, but even in the neutral zone he is convinced that Tavros must be the bait for some kind of trap. It simply can't be that easy. )}

[ uh oh. he looks up in mid-snowball creation, crushing it back to powder in his hands by accident. ]

[She doesn't actually want to take any of his supplies--she just hasn't seen him in a little while and is worried! After not finding him in the safety of their fort, she'd decided that the neutral zone was the next best place to look. Luckily, it isn't very hard to find him and once she does, she raises a gloved hand to wave, smiling widely as she trots towards him.]

[Oh great, snow balls. Because the only thing better than snow is tightly packed spheres of it.]

Giant fields of white really aren't Jason's style, but then again neither is anything non-fatal. They don't provide the necessary cover to his kind of operation, and giving somebody the opportunity to escape is just sloppy. Even beyond Batman levels of sloppy. Still, he figured the chance to embarrass Damian in front of his little girlfriend (and Helena, too) was a little too good to pass up, and so there he was, making less than genuine attempts to be stealthy (if there was even any chance of that) in the fresh laid snow. Damian, or somebody else, would take the bait eventually.

He wondered briefly if there were any rules explicitly against body slamming somebody into a snowdrift. He couldn't remember, but then again, it probably didn't matter anyway. In another twenty minutes, people would be too soaked and too tired to care and then he'd strike, just when the runt least expected it. This would be good.

Spike had about the same mindset as Jason, pelting random people with snowballs and hiding for really no good reason. He didn't even care about this event except for its obvious tension-relieving aspects. It was just funny to watch someone's face when they were caught off guard.

He hopped down from a tree branch where he'd been perched just out of sight and lobbed a ball of the fluffy white stuff at Jason's head. Heh. He cracked himself up!

[So far, she has managed to avoid all but one stray (or very well-aimed) snowball. She hasn't thrown any herself yet, but she is prepared to scoop up snow at a moment's notice. For the moment though, she has a tin of chocolate chip cookies and is passing them out in the neutral zone. No, this isn't a ploy to get anyone undecided to join her team. She is just being nice.

And anyway, can't fight a snow war on an empty stomach.]

[Shinji isn't supposed to be here, or at least doesn't want to be here, and it's his sincere hope that if he stands around in the neutral area long enough everyone will stop noticing him and he can just go home and forget about this.
