[Come December first, Zatanna's already done a number on the house. Mostly in that she has finally relinquished her death-grip on the spooky Halloween mansion that it had been for Halloween (that had morphed into Thankschilling Day).

By the eighth, she has given up on normalcy and forced snow upon the house itself and the front and backyards; it is natural and cold and wet to the touch. More importantly, it's clean. It doesn't melt much or get sloshy and muddy. The forest she'd created for Halloween remains, though not overgrown. The air is sweet with the smell of pine, but not thickly so. She's cleared it out a little, made it easier to navigate. There is now plenty of room for building snow people and snow forts, in addition to the occasional snowball fight.

The inside of the house no longer (quite as) spooky. The fireplace in the living room seems to permanently be full of logs and remains lit even when no one is home. Halfway through the month, a pine tree also appears, growing through some dimensional wormhole so it remains real without having to cut one down. The dining room has a warm glow from candles and wall sconces and the kitchen seems to always have some wonderful smell wafting from it.

There is a fat orange Persian walking around, dressed as a reindeer. It doesn't seem perturbed by its costume and appears quite content, although trying to curl up and sleep almost anywhere in between desired pettings. Hermes has become more mellowed out since Halloween (and much larger, too) and only wears antlers on his head. Teekl and Gabranth declined to join the festivities.

This holiday season is going to be good. Or, hopefully at least much better than last year's.]

No! [Resounding, quick. She doesn't mean to cut her off there, but the last thing she wants Diana to believe is that she is being treated poorly.] No, he's good to me. But it feels like I just blinked an eye. I don't expect him to grovel, it's just I... can't let it all go so easily.

[She understands and appreciates it. Diana's such a good bro. :(] I want to, but I'm not sure I can. [What Zee means to say is that she's been hurt before and their relationship has taken a turn for the more serious. It's overwhelming her.]

A pity that you've sealed your fate, huh? [All she had to do was get him out of there. And this has turned into something more than she'd originally planned. A roof over his head, knowing he'd have someone to support him if required -- that's all she planned on being. She wasn't the worst, but she was far from the best. Part of her wanted to strive for the latter, however.] Like I said, you're stuck with me. Until someone from your world comes and decides to swoop you away from me, one of us leaves, or you come of age and get tired of me.

Compared to the Justice Lords the City is a piece of cake.

I give you permission to raid it at your leisure. If you'd rather pick a bottle for now, I'm fine with it. Nothing's off limits to good friends.

Han, darling, I'm always looking at you. But these are... [They are a big deal. Because this is Han Solo, the coolest dude to come out of one of the coolest franchises and a little nine year old James just clambering out of the cinema after seeing such a cool movie could have only dreamed of even looking at such coolness.]

The question is, do you want to try? Because this is about what you want, Zee. James is wonderful and I can see that he makes you happy, but if you're not ready for the direction your relationship is going in, then you shouldn't force yourself to adapt to something that makes you uncomfortable.

The Justice Lords? Is it wise to ask about them?

Justice League gone dark side from another universe. [ That's a 'I don't know if it's wise but I'm going to tell you anyway'. Wally likes to save time that way. ]

They found their way to our universe and tried to trade.

Maybe not keeping us hostage and banning us from countries, for a start.

(But he's happy that James likes it. It's sort of weird, having friends that aren't Luke or Chewie. Han's at least glad that he has such great friends like James here in the city. It won't ... be so bad if he shows his appreciation once and a while.)

Something similar happened to the League in my universe, as well. There was an attempt to right the other world, but it was simply the nature of that universe for evil to prevail, and we couldn't do anything to change it.

Those are certainly points against Earth, but we're trying to right things. Perhaps I'll work even harder now to reverse that law, so you won't have such a terrible opinion of the planet.

No kidding? Did Supes kill Luthor there too?

I would have kicked him to the curb by now, if I didn't want to... I. [This is weird. Han's been talking to her and James about them getting married. Actually, almost everyone they're close to has. And she's not sure she'll ever be ready for that big of a jump.]

We had a talk about what we wanted out of our relationship before he came back again, you know.

Luthor was actually a decent man, if you can believe it. It was a universe in which each individual's personality was the direct opposite of ours.
