SUMMARY: Kenzi's throwing a Superbowl Party

[Kenzi has spent the week beforehand getting everything ready for Sunday. So by the time the day rolls around the kitchen counters are laden with various party foods. Bowls of chips and dip, a vegetable plate for anyone that wants something healthy, cookies...just the usual stuff. As far as drinks go Kenzi has a big ice chest waiting for any drinks anyone brings. She's provided some beers and sodas, there's also some bottled water and juice in there. Anything else is up to those coming.

All the hard stuff has been hidden as Kenzi doesn't plan on sharing. But there are some jello shots that might have just a bit too much vodka in them in the fridge.

Kenzi takes one last look over everything to make sure it's all ready before flopping down on the couch to wait. She didn't give a specific time for people to drop by, which now that she thinks about it she probably should have. Oh well. For now she'll just wait.]

[ He's almost done with the dishes. He'll be glad, too; the uncomfortable wrinkling of skin isn't fun. ]

So it was hardly a lesson learned...

Never really is. [She shrugs and goes for another jello shot in the fridge. Oh...there aren't anymore.]

[invoking]

Everything is so expensive in this time. Don't waste your money like that. [ And with the last dish done, he begins to drain the sink and rinse out the sponge. ]

Do you have any of that Mr. Clean liquid or any surface disinfectant? [ Yes, he's going to clean the sink. He always does when he's done at his place.

And Sue's now... his place. Theirs? ]

[wisecracked]

[Not listening to this lecture.]

No, I don't have any. I think there's some Comet under the sink though. [Maybe. She's not sure. She doesn't really bother with a lot of cleaning stuff and hasn't bought any cleaning supplies since she moved into the place. She's not even sure why she bought them when she doesn't clean often.]

[invoking]

[ Because germs breed. :(

He bends over to look under the sink and finds the Comet can, taking it out and lightly applying some of it to the surface around and inside the sink. Then he takes whatever food and other things got stuck onto the drains and throws it into the garbage.

With a cloth, he starts to wipe. When he's done, he puts aside the cloth and uses his wrist to wipe his brow. ]

There we go.

[wisecracked]

[Stupid germs.

While he's busy doing that Kenzi is getting the vacuum out and taking care of the mess of chips and popcorn on the floor and couch and table and everywhere else it ended up while she and Quentin were throwing it at each other. Well, really more of her doing the throwing.]

[invoking]

[ He wipes his hands, making a face. ]

They really did make a mess...

[wisecracked]

It's a thing that happens at parties. [Even though most of the mess was her.]

[invoking]

[ The people she invited were a little stranger. Rude, even, but he doesn't say that aloud. ]

I guess it could be worse.

[wisecracked]

[Strange people that are her friends.]

Yeah, things could have actually been destroyed. [She yells over the whir of the vacuum.]

[invoking]

[ He's standing around idly, not sure what else he should do. ]

Um, [ he speaks louder now: ] is there anything else I can do?

[wisecracked]

Naw!



[Aaaaaaaaaaand done. She turns off the vacuum and starts putting it away.]

Welp, that's everything.

[invoking]

Are you sure you don't need help with anything else? [ But he does eye the clock just now. It takes some time to get to Sue's place. ]

[wisecracked]

Unless you want to do my laundry and handle my delicate lady-wear, no. It's now time to chill, which you're welcome to stay for or you can head out. So up to you.

[ Although blushing furiously now, he clears his throat and looks away from her pointedly. ]

I... have to go. It's a long walk from here.

[She bites back a laugh and the comment to say "What you don't want to see my delicates?"]

Whoa, wait up. You walked here? Dude, no. I'll get you a cab.

I can take the subway? [ He doesn't want to trouble her. ]

[wisecracked]

[Oh right, sometimes she forgets there's the subway. Flying make everything so damn easy.]

Oh right... If you're sure then okay. Just...y'know, don't catch a cold or something.

[invoking]

[ It's amusing to hear that from her, since he's the one always getting on her case.

He makes for the chair with his coat hung over it. Once he slips into it, he starts for the entrance where his shoes, hat, and scarf are. ]

I won't. Don't worry about it.

[wisecracked]

[She only says that because if he does she's sooooo not going to look after him.

She follows after him to see him out.]

Okay then, I won't. See you later, Gil.

[invoking]

[ She sure was quick to decide she wouldn't... Gil doesn't think he'll ever understand her completely.

Fully dressed to brave the cold night air, he steps out of the doorway and turns around to address Kenzi one last time. ]

Thanks again. [ He's never good at this... ] It was fun.

[wisecracked]

[She will worry about all her friends but better to not have them know that.

She smiles and gives a nod.] I'm glad you had fun.

[invoking]

[ A slight nod of the head then. With everything that's happened so far in this world, it felt like a breath of fresh air to break away from all that and have fun of some sort. Even if he didn't get the sport or who Destiny's Child was supposed to be. The atmosphere was... pleasant. ]

Yeah.

[wisecracked]

[As long as he had fun that's all she cared about. One person not having fun at a party she throws just doesn't work for her.]

Night, dude. [She gives a little wave before backing into the apartment and shutting the door.]
