SUMMARY: Kenzi is out shopping for Kang's hatching day party and runs into Gil, possibly literally.
FORMAT: Quick

[It's just a few days until Kang's party and Kenzi wants everything to be perfect. She almost has everything needed but there's still a few more things to get. So she's out doing that. She's not paying much attention to the cart she's pushing as she pours over the shelf. Food stuff isn't a big issue for the party, same with alcohol, but she did want some decorations.]

Hmm, Tiki lights are always a must... [She muses as she moves along, eyes focused on the shelf and not where her cart is going.]

I guess -- huh? [ He moves out of her way so she can push the cart forward, looking uncertain. ] To the party, you mean? [ At a bar... ]

[wisecracked]

Duh, the party! You don't have to worry about getting Kang a gift, he'll just be happy to see people. [Yes, a bar. A bar rented out just for the party.]

[invoking]

You want me to come? I don't know him that well... [ But he does like him. ]

[wisecracked]

So? You can get to know him better. [She shrugs.]

[invoking]

As friends?

[wisecracked]

If that's what you want. I know Kang's always happy to have more friends. [She still has to wonder how Mordin thought Kang wasn't the social sort.]

[invoking]

[ He starts down the aisle and lets out a quiet sigh. Is he always going to be weird about this friendship stuff? Yes. ]

He is a kind person. [ For a non-human, he doesn't act like one. Not like Piccolo, although Gil has no quarrel with him either. He's mostly bothered when he has to face him and the reminders of the stadium several months ago now. ] I wouldn't want to show up empty handed, though.

[wisecracked]

Yeah, he is. Really protective too. [Same could be said for Piccolo. But Kenzi seemed to get that out of a lot of people she befriended; they all wanted to protect her.]

I could help you find something, if you want. Although we might need to head to a liquor store. We probably wouldn't find anything worth drinking here.

[invoking]

Of you? [ He looks her over. Gil, too, wants to protect her like many of the friends he's made here. After what Fury and Bobbi told him about Red Death and what had happened to Los Angeles especially. ]

Alright. What sort of liquor does he fancy?

[wisecracked]

Yeah. [She smiles.] I feel sorry for any fuck that tries to hurt me and he finds out. [She's not sure if she could talk him down if someone hurt her enough.]

He likes the strong stuff. He loves anything that tastes like what he would find back home. Something old and strong. So uh, basically the not cheap stuff.

[invoking]

[ He frowns a little at the thought while he walks down the aisle and reaches into his coat pocket for the list he made. ]

Is he powerful, then?

[ Then he nods. ]

We can look in a bit. I need to pick up -- [ he looks at the paper and squints ] one more thing.

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi half leans on the cart as she follows along with Gil. She has everything she came to get in the cart. Anything else she grabs at this point is just spur of the moment.]

I guess? I've never actually seen him fight and unlike Piccolo I've never sparred with him. But he's like a general or something back home.

[She nods.] A'ight. I know the prefect place to go, they usually have good stuff.

[invoking]

A military man?

Oh... are you done shopping? [ He doesn't want to waste her time. ] We could meet outside the store in a bit. I won't be long.

[wisecracked]

Yeah. Not...really by choice though.

Sorta. Just kind of browsing now in case I forgot anything. But if you'd rather meet up outside I can go ahead. [Assuming she didn't get distracted by something along the way.]

[invoking]

You can. You'll need help carrying the bags back, won't you?

[wisecracked]

A'ight, see you outside. And it's not too much to carry. [At least, not when she has TK. Although she's once again forgetting about Gil's hand.]

[invoking]

[ It's not very long before Gil's paid for all the items, had them bagged, and then he's stepped outside looking for Kenzi. He spots her and makes his way over. ]

Where is this store you had in mind?

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi's not even carrying the bags, they're all floating out before her.]

It's a bit out of the ways, we'll probably need to take a taxi. But I need to drop this stuff off back at the apartment though. It's a bit much to be walking around with.

You can leave your stuff there too and get it after we're done if you want.

[ Luckily he's carrying the bag in another hand, because immediately his left hand starts acting up. ]

Ah--!

[invoking]

[ He shakes his hand back and forth as if to rid himself of the pain. ]

Again with the telekinesis?

[wisecracked]

[She blinks at him before she remembers.]

Oh...right. Sorry, it makes things easier.

[invoking]

How can you forget every time? [ He's lost count of how many times Kenzi has accidentally done this to him. ]

Anyway... is that alright? If I leave my bag at yours?

[wisecracked]

I dunno. [She shrugs. She can remember a lot of things but Gil's hand is just not one of them. Maybe if it wasn't there.]

It's fine. Not like anyone is going to take it.

[invoking]

Try to remember!

[ He only loses his arm later on, okay.

With his hand feeling marginally better, he bends over to help her carry most of the weight. ]

That's not that I meant... but alright.

[wisecracked]

I'll try.

[Once all the bag are situated she leads the way back to the apartment. It's not a far walk, at least.]

If you're worried about Piccolo getting upset over some bag it's not a problem.
