he's got a problem with his poisons but you know he'll find a cure

WHO: NORMAN OSBORN and ADRIAN VEIDT
WHERE: Oscorp
WHEN: Earlier in the week.
WARNINGS: Creepy jerks? ...??
SUMMARY: Job interviews/first meetings, tours, and beyond.
FORMAT: Whatever.

Although Norman's standards were high, he tried not to keep his interview process too rigorous. Rebuilding a company from scratch wasn't an easy job, and there were certain areas he couldn't afford to be too picky with if he wanted to succeed.

So though he was selective about who he hired, there was plenty of room for flexibility. No background checks were one checkpoint, and credentials he had to take at someone's word. At least until he could put them to a practical test.

Still, it was obvious that more employees meant a smoother running business, so he wasn't at all cagey when it came to meeting with Adrian Veidt. To the contrary; he was very interested in meeting this man.

[Adrian shakes his hand and nods, it isn't as if he doesn't understand what it's like running a business.]

We spoke when I first arrived here, yes. Back home i was well established in the business world but here one has to start from scratch. We discussed my experiences and he suggested I meet with you.

I will be honest with you, applying for a position here is not an end-strategy. That does not mean that I would not put forward as much effort as humanly possible while working here, but merely that I am man with a vision which does not end with a comfortable job and a comfortable salary. There are people who would be quite content with that, but at home I had acquired a fortune from the ground up after donating my own to successfully become the ceo of one of the most major companies in the world, and I see no reason to stop being visionary because the Porter has decided that I should now figure into this world rather than my own. Connors suggested this because of my wish to learn more about this world's technology and my experience in management in the past.

If my intentions to continue to achieve as a businessman discourage you from employing me, I understand, but in turn you would lose the chance for an employee with a great deal of expertise willing to be put in a position far below that which he held at home not because he needs the money but because he wants to learn and work. I have had far too many dealings with businessmen who do it for greed and for status and whose presence may as well have been worse than having an employee who may some day leave you to follow different things.

At home, I was referred to as the smartest man in the world and it is a title that I was proud to have earned - but I assure you that it was just that, something earned, not something given. My entire career has been marked by determination and vision with a really honest work ethic that I think most people lack.

The majority of my time was spent in the front line, but I am capable of doing science as well. As I may have indicated, the world I am from is about thirty years of technology behind this one, but I wouldn't shy from the challenge.

[Or any challenge, really.]

I would be willing to be on contract for a year, and then a month by month basis after that, if it would suffice.

I figured they were, but sometimes the habits of formality help to make up for lack of surety.

[He smiles this has gone so well!! go team]

I'll do my best to stick around.
