This isn't creative...
WHO: Kiryu and this huge list of people (please tag yourselves if you post)
WHERE: Everywhere
WHEN: Weds. Jul. 15, maybe the next couple days too
WARNINGS: Uh, probably nothing
SUMMARY: Souvenir/present delivery! maybe helping out, who knows, he probably won't.
FORMAT: whatever
Kiryu checked over the contents in his bag one more time before starting the engine and driving off. He'd have to make a couple trips, since there was no way he could carry everything with him on one run. That was fine; it gave him more opportunity to check out the damage.
He supposed he should probably feel bad for almost ignoring what had happened here and going about his business. Especially since his business involved handing out presents to people. He could almost hear the Signer brat sniping in his ear now.
Well, too bad for her. She could just hate him some more then. He had friends to give presents to.

Oh well, he could always push his roommates into assisting him.
He was however, too far to pick up Kiryu's vibes or notice that he was leaving.
no subject
In any case she won't be difficult to find.
no subject
At least she's easy to find when he does look for her. He pulls up and waves with a faint smile.
"Hey."
no subject
He's slightly unexpected, pulling up like he does, and her head jerks up in a motion that's a mix of a whole bunch of things.
"... hello."
no subject
"How are doing?" he asks, pulling off his helmet. "Better than the last couple days?"
no subject
"Kiryu, what are you doing?"
no subject
"You're going to have to elaborate a bit more for me to answer that."
no subject
"This. All of this. Why are you doing this?"
no subject
He hadn't really thought about it. Just that he wanted to do it. Which was really how he ran his life; if he wanted to do something, he'd do it. Usually that something benefited him in some way. Even buying things for people benefited him a little.
But he doubted Aki wanted to hear that.
"I wanted to. If you mean you specifically...'cause we're a lot alike. And Rudger isn't here breathing down my neck, telling me what to do. And you're an interesting person, Izayoi-san."
no subject
His answer left her unable to find an answer for what seemed to her an age. "But you... I....
"I don't understand." She really didn't - or she did, in a way, and that just made things worse.
no subject
And Aki wasn't exactly the person he was most comfortable spilling his secrets to. As for being antagonistic...well, he lived with Saitou Hajime of all people, and had lived with Jack before too. Antagonistic was nothing new.
"But me what? Haven't you ever done something just 'cause you wanted to, without worrying what someone else might think?"
no subject
"What I did never really mattered, I knew what others would think. Only... only Divine was different, except then I came here and.... Nothing makes sense anymore and nobody acts like they're supposed to. So I don't know. I don't understand."
no subject
"What you do always matters," he said, actually looking completely serious for once. "You only have one life; you have to live it to the fullest. And what you do will always matter to someone. And it should always matter to you."
Of course, he couldn't keep that expression for long and started smirking again. "As for everyone acting different...there's a lot of people around who can do cool stuff. Some of it isn't that great if it isn't controlled. Obviously, if Godzilla's any indication. But I think a lot of them are used to dealing with it."
no subject
"What I did mattered, but only because they wished that I wasn't doing it. And as for it mattering to me - I'm... not used to that." What he said next made her stare some for a second. "Wha- no, not that way. That's odd, but... oh.
"It's... Yes, but...." Aki really, really wasn't used to being accepted and wasn't quite sure how do deal with the fact that she was. It was... confusing.
no subject
Kiryu's quiet for a moment, thinking about all of that. Obviously, they weren't thinking exactly the same way.
He didn't think the same way as a lot of people. How had he ended up being the counselor for two people in two days? He really didn't know how to deal with it. That had been Yuusei's job.
"I can't read your thoughts. You'll have to say a little more than that. What way did you mean?
no subject
In short, probably one of the safest public places she could be, and her favorite one, apart from the rooftop and Central Park.
no subject
"Hey! This is a nice place~"
no subject
She smiled, waving. "Hello! I really like it! And having roommates is fun."
She stood and made her way toward him, braid flickering behind her. "So how was the trip? I want to hear all about it! Did you find what you were looking for? Was it good to be home?"
no subject
"Hey, hey, I can only answer one question at a time." He shrugs a little. "It was fun, and it was really great hearing Japanese all over the place, but it wasn't really home."
no subject
no subject
"I'm from the future of this time, so I didn't think I would anyway." He runs his fingers through his hair, tugging at it, just looking more frustrated. This had been bothering him since they'd arrived there.
"The tech level of Japan wasn't right for it to exist when it should anyway. We had stuff in 2009 that they don't. It was weird."
no subject
But it wouldn't be going home. It was kind of a disheartening thought, so she shoved it away, thought about the difference between Kiryu's 2009 and today.
"I've heard people talk about being from other versions of the same worlds. Maybe yours isn't as much like this one as you thought?"
no subject
He shrugged, still a little frustrated. "It's probably better this way, though. Satellite doesn't need to exist in even one universe."
In fact, a part of him was a little relieved every time he had to explain his universe to someone. It just meant that was one more universe where Satellite didn't exist.
"But it was nice to visit. Everywhere we went was beautiful. I took a ton of pictures."
no subject
At his comment about Satellite, Misao nodded. She filed away his dislike of his hometown to remember in the future. It sounded like a topic not to mention again.
"Beautiful, really? But I thought it looked like the City now?" And it was hard to imagine anyplace that looked like the City being beautiful.
no subject
"There are a lot of places that do," he said, turning it on, "but they built around a lot of the older structures, so even in the cities it looks nicer than this."
He flicks through a few of the pictures before finding one he'd taken of Yakushima for Aigis.
"And there are some places that haven't really been touched," he added, turning the camera around so Misao could see the picture.
no subject
"Oh, that does sound pretty--"
But her train of thought completely derailed at the sight of the camera and the picture of Yakushima. She reached out to touch the camera, staring at the photograph. She made a soft 'ooh' sound, staring wide-eyed.
"That's so beautiful! Where is that, is it in the Ryukyu somewhere?"

He still couldn't help the small amount of bitterness he felt toward her as he approached, but it was much less than it had been months ago. He liked her a lot more now, even if it was difficult sometimes.
"Del!" he called, waving.
no subject
"Hello, hello!" she said, cheerfully, "Did you have a good trip? Welcome back! I haven't been to the Japan in here yet."
