SUMMARY: Visit Momjeans in the hospital! Leave her flowers! Threatening notes! Rub it in her face that she got ridiculously concussed from just a simple metal sword hilt to the head! Sneak real food in! Fill her in on the stuff that's going down in the city!

[Maza's in her hospital room, grumpy, headache-y, and creeped out by the note on those flowers that got delivered to her room.]

[ She continues to scowl up at him, not wanting to surrender but not having much choice. ]

You completely and totally suck. Why are you here?

[ His mouth twitches just the slightest as if he's tempted to be just as argumentative as she was right now, but knows it won't help matters. Though in a few seconds he might try and walk her back over the hospital bed to lie down like she was supposed to be doing. ]

Is it really so hard to believe that I might want to see how you are. That wasn't supposed to land you in the hospital. [ Though that part is more to himself, as he's been berating himself on not holding back his strength enough. Or if he should have just not used his sword to knock her out whatsoever. ]

Yes. You have to know we're all out to arrest you.

And don't ask me why it did, I've been knocked out before with no problem. Maybe you're just lucky. [ She sits back down on the bed and scowls. Does he clearly not understand all of this? ]

[ ... Well at least she sat back down. However after that scene she just pulled he remains standing for now, eying her warily. ]

Just because I have no want to be arrested doesn't mean I want you dead, you know.

[ If he wanted her dead she'd be dead. That's about as simple as it gets. ]

I know that. So what's keeping me from yelling at the top of my lungs and bringing everyone in here?

[ He makes a very good attempt at not widening his eyes a little or inching more toward the door - he's not sure how, but for some reason he's able to bury it down. For the moment. If she was defiant enough to try walking right after a concussion, he wouldn't put the idea of yelling past her. It wouldn't help her head though (sometimes he wished she would think about these things more) ]

You tell me.

[ Well, that's not the answer she wants to hear. She honestly wants him to let her know because she sure as hell can't figure it out. But after several moments of piecing it out, she has a reason. And it's the only one she'll ever say out loud. ]

Because I'm still not entirely convinced that this isn't just some sort of incredibly detailed lucid dream, and if I yell, they'll likely come in and keep me here longer. That part isn't acceptable. I need to get back to work.

[ For a moment he just stares at her nonplussed, before cracking a small smile and covering his face with one hand, letting go a soft amused laugh. This really was too much. ]

[ Grumbles ] Yes, well, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.

[ It's only for a few seconds, really. Though at her grumbling he removes his hand and looks back at her oddly. Not really regretful, since Saitou never feels regret, but perhaps sorry that it had to be her in here. She hadn't done anything wrong. He would have been completely okay with sending Lassiter to the hospital in her place, though. Perhaps that would finally shove his ego down. Or Pete. ]

You won't be stuck here forever. Then you can chase me for as long as you want. [ WINK WINK and yes his tone is teasing there of course. ] I'm flattered, really.

[ She stares at him in disbelief. Okay, subconscious, really? Well, she can play that game. ]

You should be. I don't just chase down anyone you know.

[ He gets some amusement out of her disbelief, however when she flings it right back in his face he's not sure how to react. Who knew if she had a pair of handcuffs hiding somewhere, so he refrains from getting close and just leans up against the wall opposite her. ]

Is that so.

[ He looks like a large cat when he does that, Elisa decides. Like Cagney when there was a stranger in the house, wary and ready to move at a moment's notice. ]

You doubt me?

[ Sigh, this is about the normal time where Saitou would pull out his cigarettes and light one to calm his nerves. Or at least stall some time for replying to something that he wasn't very inclined to answer. However considering hospital regulations, he didn't want to be kicked out just yet. He preferred leaving on his own terms. ]

Not often.

[ Haaah, no cigarettes for you, Saitou. You get to bear the awkward! ]

But you doubt I'll be able to arrest you.

[ HE WANTS ONE SO BAD RIGHT NOW ]

Right now, yes. [ And once again looking at her pointedly. Not exactly the normal outfit one wears when arresting a suspect. ]

[ And she has the grace to look mildly embarrassed. But hey, at least it's not a Belle costume this time. ]

...It'd be different if I had my cuffs with me.

Saitou refrains from smirking at her expression for now. But he might later. Later meaning when he can finally have his damn cigarettes and not get yelled for it. ]

You think?

[ And Elisa just looks over at him defiantly. ]

No, I know.

[ Saitou returns the look just as strongly, if not more. She wants to be stubborn, fine. But he's not letting her try any stunts again today. ]

Well since you don't have them with you, perhaps you should listen to your doctors and wait until they release you to do so.

[ A glare-off? Oh, she is down with that. ]

They're going to release me tomorrow, you know.

[ Smiiiiirk ]

I won't be here tomorrow.

Well, I should hope not. If you are, then I'm having persistent delusions and I'll really be in trouble.

[ Hnnnngh this is another pause where he would really be dying to have a cigarette right now. ]

Hmph. I'm sure.

[A resigned sigh.] The real you is probably half-way around the world by now.
