SUMMARY: Trying to stop thinking so much, Momiji starts wondering around the City.

Momiji had been spending his first few days in the City trying to wrap his mind around the concept of being stuck in this new reality. It hadn’t been going well. Thinking about it left him depressed and filled with questions about the future. The silence that filled his apartment wasn’t helping. Momiji had never really been alone. Sure, the houses on Sohma estate were usually quiet, but there had still been the background hum of human life. To keep himself from dwelling on his situation, Momiji had been busy acquiring a new wardrobe and decorating his room.

But there was only so much time he could dedicate to deciding between shades of pink and by Friday, Momiji running out of things to do. Determined not to spend his weekend worrying over something he couldn’t change, he rose early and with a game plan. He was going to explore the City and get familiar with the place he’d be calling home from now on. Mentally pumping himself, Momiji pulled on a sweater and strode out the door.

Momiji let out a shout of triumph, practically jumping up from his seat. "You too, Bakura-kun! It was just luck that let me win." Even so, he was beaming and obviously proud of himself.

"It was more than just luck! You did really well!" Bakura insisted, almost laughing again at Momiji's glee as he stood up.

"Mmhm. Thanks. You did well too." Momiji said, rocking from his sudden flow of energy. He gestured around the room. "Anything you want to do?"

"More games!" Bakura cheered.

He could spend hours in an arcade, really. Even if it was bad on his wallet!

"Ever play air hockey?"

"Okay!" Momiji chirped, perfectly willing to keep going.

"No, I haven't." He blinked. "Is it like normal hockey?"

"Only a little! There's still the puck and you have to get it into the other goal, but it's on a table and only two players."

Not that Bakura know much of regular hockey...

"And you have a little paddle you use to hit the puck instead of a stick."

"Hockey on a table. That's weird." Momiji commented. He didn't know much on hockey either but he was pretty sure the regular kind wasn't played on tables. "But let's play. I'll try anything!"

"No weirder than driving and going no where," Bakura pointed out with a grin, heading for the air hockey table. He was going to get there first and put in the coins before Momiji could~

Momiji laughed. "Yeah, I guess!" Momiji noticed what you're trying there Bakura. He's not happy about it. He walks a bit faster to try to beat you.

Oh no, no! Longer legs taking the advantage here, quarters already in hand! Not gonna get this round, Momiji!

Momiji pouted upon his loss, but made the vow to do better next time. You may have won the battle Bakura, but Momiji will win the war.

He took up a position at the far end of the table. "So we just hit the pucks in these holes?"

"Un!" Bakura nodded, setting the puck down before grabbing his paddle. "First to 10 wins! Ready?"

Momiji place his paddle on the table, gripping it tightly. He gave Bakura a determined nod. "Got it. I'm ready."

Bakura gave a nod before giving the puck a good whack, sending it sailing across the table. He always lost this game, but considering who he normally played against, it was no surprise!

Momiji moved to send it back, hitting it hard. Momiji couldn't say he'd be in a better boat. After playing Kyo in games like table tennis, he was used to only winning by technicalities.

"Heeeh, you're pretty good!" Bakura grinned, waiting for the puck to bounce fully back before attempting to hit it back again, on a crazy angle this time.

"Thanks." Momiji went for the puck but missed and laughed went it went through the goal. ""You good too." He laughed.

Bakura looked almost embarrassed. "We have one of these in the Mancave, so I get a lot of practice," he admitted.

A pause as he retrieved the puck, checking to see if Momiji was ready before setting it sailing again.

"Mancave?" Momiji repeated, looking amused. He blocked the puck, sending it towards the left. "I thought you'd played before, since you were talking about it."

Bakura moved to quickly return the puck, hitting it with a satisfying thwack!

"It's this epic room my friend made! It has an arcade, a huge TV, a great kitchen and even a shark in it!"

Momiji barely managed to hit it back in his surprise. "You keep a shark in a house! That place must be huge!"

Bakura grinned. "It was two apartments when he started, two pretty big ones at that! So it really is! You'll have to come over some day and see it!"

"If your friends don't mind, then sure." It'd be fun to visit his new pal sometime. It wasn't like he had much to do here anyway.

"I'm sure he won't! Anyone on the floor can use it, after all!"

"I might come over sometime. Challenge you to some games there." Momiji promised, taking another whack at the puck.
