WHO: ERIDAN AMPORA and ZATANNA ZATARA and THEIR VERY UNFORTUNATE GUESTS.
WHERE: a creepy ~~rose red~~ house on the edge of the city.

WARNINGS: fakemurder. gore. trauma. misery. mystery!!!
SUMMARY: since eridan spent the entirety of halloween wweepin and eating stale sugar cookies in his basement leah, he and zee throw a belated halloween party!! BAD THINGS HAPPEN.
FORMAT: ANYTHING GOES.

[the house - it's more of a miniature mansion, really, and incredibly creepy - is just far enough from the city's limits to be quiet. sprawling, dark, and eerie; it's kind of like a cross between rose red and dracula's summer home, which is at least half of the reason why it was chosen. maybe two-thirds.

inside the decorations are done up in lush reds and the occasional streaks of violet; the kitchen is full of food and refreshments, the main hall is decked out, the music is pumping, and the hosts will no doubt be more than happy to tell everyone all about how they heard a rumor from a friend of a cousin of the realtor that like a quintuple murder totally happened in the attic or something (or one of them will, at least). rooms beyond the immediate party area (a host of ground level rooms and anything upstairs, basically) haven't exactly been blocked off, but they're also visibly not as touched up and may or may not be haunted.

well, there's a definite risk. the place is creepy as hell.

Don't worry, I'll defurnitely be careful about how much I take on! I don't even want to think about what would happen if I got too many of them.

Oh my gosh, we'd nefur get rid of them if they were like that! I purrobably wouldn't even be able to get out of my respiteblock.

I'd recommend locking them in the closet to win your freedom. Just be sure to feed them as needed.

That sounds like a great idea! We'll just have to be sure to get anything impurrtant out of the closet befur jamming them all in there.

Do you have anything stored in there already? [ maybe a dress kanaya had made back in april, but kanaya's not even really sure what nepeta's closet looks like. it probably isn't as big as hers, but she doesn't really want a lot of gruff muscular dudes sweating around in her closet. ]

Just some pelts and bunches of feathers so fur. I've got purrlenty of room on the floor still so I haven't really been using it that much!

[Nepeta's closet is pretty sparse outside of the inexplicable dress she found in it, although she's made up for that by converting the back wall into her secret OTP shrine. no one will ever think to look there, hahaha!]

On the floor? Nepeta, that is the very purpose of the closet! The floor is for walking across, not storing various mislaid items.

I can still get across it just fine! And this way I know exactly what I have already and where it is the minute I walk in.

For now, perhaps. But once you've built up enough of a backlog there you won't be able to find anything whatsoever!

Then that's the point where I start using the closet! I used the same method back home and I've nefur had trouble finding the stuff I bring back befur.

Why not reverse it? Begin the storage in the closet, and leave the floor for overflow instead?

Not rules so much as guidelines, methods, approaches. They contribute to the flow of a room the same as anything else.

The interior of one's respiteblock is just as beholden to the tenets of design as anything else, such as your wardrobe.

I guess, but I didn't really think about it beyond the fact that it'd be cute and comfy to wear. Besides, who could pawsibly think about wasting a nice pelt like this?

Precisely! And where is it that you hang your unprocessed pelts? [ assuming she's already started accumulating them, which...well she'd rather those weren't kept in her room to begin with. she's just next door, she has to smell that. ]

I use the dresser drawers most of the time since I like to watch them while they're drying. But sometimes if I've got a bunch I guess I'll stick them in the closet - they're so teeny you can fit a ton on one hanger! [oh honey you have no idea how many little squirrel pelts she's got sitting in the corner of her room already. she'd be sorry about the smell if she even noticed it at this point]

You know, I'm actually afraid to ask. I'm not sure I really want to know what you've been hunting.
