[Come December first, Zatanna's already done a number on the house. Mostly in that she has finally relinquished her death-grip on the spooky Halloween mansion that it had been for Halloween (that had morphed into Thankschilling Day).

By the eighth, she has given up on normalcy and forced snow upon the house itself and the front and backyards; it is natural and cold and wet to the touch. More importantly, it's clean. It doesn't melt much or get sloshy and muddy. The forest she'd created for Halloween remains, though not overgrown. The air is sweet with the smell of pine, but not thickly so. She's cleared it out a little, made it easier to navigate. There is now plenty of room for building snow people and snow forts, in addition to the occasional snowball fight.

The inside of the house no longer (quite as) spooky. The fireplace in the living room seems to permanently be full of logs and remains lit even when no one is home. Halfway through the month, a pine tree also appears, growing through some dimensional wormhole so it remains real without having to cut one down. The dining room has a warm glow from candles and wall sconces and the kitchen seems to always have some wonderful smell wafting from it.

There is a fat orange Persian walking around, dressed as a reindeer. It doesn't seem perturbed by its costume and appears quite content, although trying to curl up and sleep almost anywhere in between desired pettings. Hermes has become more mellowed out since Halloween (and much larger, too) and only wears antlers on his head. Teekl and Gabranth declined to join the festivities.

This holiday season is going to be good. Or, hopefully at least much better than last year's.]

[she dives out of the way as well, too far, but that doesn't matter because now she knows where he is!! sort of, anyway. she sharply turns her head toward his voice. the vanilla smell of snow is strong, but if she can get close enough he'll stand out, which will make aiming somewhat easier!]

[yeah that's right! she fires off another snowball, giggling fiendishly as she does so.]

[His nice, overly priced waxed coat suddenly has an extra addition of a snow as he gets caught in the arm by the latest missile.

Oh. Oh, so that's how she wants to play. :|

No remorse, man. Gotta keep moving. He circles around, throwing another snowball from behind then diving into a sideways roll to try and avoid any counters. He's like an action hero or something...]

[that's what you get for playing with kids, yo! at any rate, terezi is unbothered by the fact that she's pelted again, this time from the back. in fact she's laughing as she spins around, her cane disappearing into thin air as she stores it in her sylladex before firing off two snowballs one after the other in james' general direction, or at least where he was a few seconds ago.

she heads that way, too, only stumbling a little as she tries to pick him out of his surroundings by scent alone.]

[Just missed, although he swears one brushed his boot as he'd rolled off. Kid's damn quick, especially if she is actually blind.

He doesn't back off as she approaches closer, if only because a closer target for him merely means a lot easier to hit, although he's showing mercy for just a second or two.] You know, if you're struggling to hit me, we could always just leave it and say I won... [Taunting!]

Surrender is not an option!!

[and now she definitely has him locked down, a dark smooth scent against the vanilla snow. which means that she can scoop up another couple of snowballs and pitch them with real confidence! even if it means taking a few hits herself.]

[It's obvious enough that she's caught onto him, because both snowballs do a direct hit, one to the chest and one straight for the face that gets him sputtering just briefly. He retaliates with a wildly thrown one that's actually more just a handful of snow than anything compact, but then he's circling again and gathering up, preparing himself for making the most ridiculously huge snowball. A ball to win the war!!!1one]

[she laughs as the poorly-packed handful splatters against her face, already turning to try and find where her target has gone. she hastily prepares a couple more snowballs as she searches for him, brushing snow away from her nose with one arm to make the scent image clearer. who will strike first, man or troll???]

[He circles like a true predator, finishing off one damn big snowball that looks to be several crushed together to make a super one. Making sure it's packed tight enough not to fall apart, but loose enough to cause ultimate chaos, he then goes for the kill, darting in close range to try and dunk it straight for her head, opening himself up to hits.]

[she finds him at the last second and faces him head-on, flinging her last two snowballs as he approaches which puts them at chest level for james at close range. as for the snow dunk, terezi could probably move fast enough to avoid it...but that wouldn't be any fun, and at any rate he's close enough the game is probably up, which means she's laughing again.]

[Bond gets his fair share of pelted snowballs, his jacket now covered in a dusting of snow.]
