[Kenzi's morning started off kind of shitty but she had no one to blame but herself. She drank waaaaaay too much the night before and was paying with it come early afternoon with a massive hang over. So she spent the first few hours trying to deal with that.

Eventually she felt well enough to get dressed and go out but what was she going to do while out? Other than get some delicious greasy food in her stomach, of course.

While she ate she though about what to do and eventually she decided she hadn't bugged Gil in a while. Once she was done with her meal she made her way to his place, it was too cold to just fly up to his window and wait so surprisingly she's at the door. Banging on it. If Gil doesn't answer quickly enough she'll start yelling as well.]

Ingredients are cheaper and it's not that hard.

[ His fork fumbles between his fingers. ]

What do you like to do, then?

[She really likes pushing his buttons.]

Partying, clubbing, dating, being sociable. Dancing too. Not just club dancing.

Just anything thrilling is fun.

Parties... [ He shakes his head. ] They're not really interesting to me.

That's because you're a boring old man. [She sticks her tongue out again before going back to eating.]

Mmn! Also I like to shop.

Stop that!

[ He just has fun in his own ways!! ]

Besides, the parties back home were always for high society. [ Meaning they were actually rather boring. Lots of gossiping, political talk, and looking for suitors. ]

I calls 'em like I sees 'em. [Grinning.]

There's still hoity-toity parties of that kind. I think that's something that'll never change. But the parties I like are so much more fun than those. [Mostly because she can find some rich guy to schmooze with.]

You mean the ones in the bars and clubs here. [ Not fond of those either. Too loud and too much alcohol everywhere. Only the smell of cigarettes don't bother him. ]

Well that's one place where there's always a party. The ones I mean though are the ones that not everyone knows about. The invite only parties.

[Which often do have some loud music and lots of alcohol as well.]

Do you not get tired or headaches from places like that? Going all the time...

[ He continues eating his salad, most of the plate cleared already. ]

Only headaches I deal with are ones from hangovers. And I don't go as often as I'd like.

[Not like back home where she could hit up the club practically every night. Nope here she's gotta be a responsible adult. Which she really doesn't like.]

[ Gurl... ]

You'll make yourself sick eventually.

Can't be any worse than basilisk poisoning. [Her cheese fries are about gone, how sad.]

[ When he finally takes a look at her plate, he gags quietly. She ate all that so fast?! Somehow he feels like the one who's going to be sick.

His salad is finished, everything neatly pushed to the side along with the crumpled napkin. ]

Isn't that a serpent of legends?

[Just as Kenzi is about to respond the waitress comes over to see if they need anything. Kenzi orders a chocolate milkshake because nothing goes better with salty, greasy goodness than sweets.

Once the waitress is gone she turns back to Gil.] Yeah. Dunno if it actually does the whole turning people to stone thing though. But man that poison...I was pretty sure I was going to die.

[ He doesn't order anything else. He's quiet while the waitress hovers and when she's gone, he continues: ] You were poisoned? How? Did it bite you?

[ He watches her with brows knitted closely together in concern. Having been poisoned before, he knows how terrifying it can be. ]

I uh...ate a soup that was contaminated. [No need to mention how the soup was contaminated. What would people think if they knew she ate human foot soup? And thought it was good! Just the thought alone makes her feel a little ill but she quickly takes a drink of soda and forgets about it.]

Some of the meat had the poison in it and the person that made the soup didn't know. They...actually died from it.

Someone must have put the poison in there.

[She rubs her face and falls silent as the waitress returns with the milkshake. Explaining how it happened would mean having to explain that the soup was made of people.]

Yeah, never found that out. In any case it's not a fun thing to go through. Bleeding out of every orifice. High fever and hallucinations. And of course the pain of every part of your body being broken down by the venom.

That happened? [ A long pause as he debates whether or not to tell her. ] I'm sorry that happened to you. Being in any sort of pain... [ He touches his neck unconsciously. ]

Yup. I was lucky that Trick knew a few remedies that could help ease the symptoms long enough for Lauren to come up with an antidote. Since...she wasn't even aware of what was causing it until after doing some investigating. Apparently basilisk aren't too common.

[She glances up to see him touching his neck and squints.] Throat getting sore? Because dude if you're coming down with something I'm getting away from you.

There's probably modern day cures for... something like that, I suppose. [ Basilisk poison? Alright, maybe not... but something strong, at least. ]

Huh? [ He looks at her and withdraws his hand fast. ] No, I'm fine.

An antidote is the only cure.

Okay, good. Because I do don't need some throat thing. I talk on the phone too much at work for that.

There are places back home that make poisons, too. Apothecaries, I've heard, take special requests.

[ Shady business. ]

I'm not going to pass anything to you. [ He sighs. ]

We got places like that too. Well...sorta. I don't think they really go by that name anymore unless they're Fae ran.

[She kind of taking her time with the milkshake.]

Your world sounds complicated. [ He leans back in the chair a bit, feeling hot again. ]
