[Kenzi has spent the week beforehand getting everything ready for Sunday. So by the time the day rolls around the kitchen counters are laden with various party foods. Bowls of chips and dip, a vegetable plate for anyone that wants something healthy, cookies...just the usual stuff. As far as drinks go Kenzi has a big ice chest waiting for any drinks anyone brings. She's provided some beers and sodas, there's also some bottled water and juice in there. Anything else is up to those coming.

All the hard stuff has been hidden as Kenzi doesn't plan on sharing. But there are some jello shots that might have just a bit too much vodka in them in the fridge.

Kenzi takes one last look over everything to make sure it's all ready before flopping down on the couch to wait. She didn't give a specific time for people to drop by, which now that she thinks about it she probably should have. Oh well. For now she'll just wait.]

Because it's a big event. [She kicks the trash bin back under the sink and closes the cabinet door.]

It's a game that only happens once a year that pits only two teams against each other. They work all year long just to be one of two teams playing.

[ PRETENDING HE ALREADY THREW OUT THE PUT OUT CIGARETTE... wow me... ]

[ITS OKAY I GOT YOU

Kenzi scowls and turns to get a jello shot out of the fridge.]

No. Useless son's of... [She trails off into curses in Russian under her breath.]

[invoking]

[ His expression falls quickly. ]

Kenzi...?

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi stops long enough to slurp down the shot then look over at Gil.]

What?

[invoking]

So it was the other team, wasn't it... [ Today's lesson: Americans care a lot about football. ]

[wisecracked]

[Growling:] Yes.

[invoking]

Well, it's just a game. They'll play again next year, won't they?

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi twitches and crushes the little plastic cup in her hand.] Do you know how much money I lost on that game?

[invoking]

Money? [ And he inches back when he sees the poor cup destroyed. ] You should calm down...

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi closes her eyes and takes a deeeeeeep breath.]

Yes. Money. [Okay she's not exactly calm but she's not going to make the kitchen explode.]

[invoking]

What happened?

[wisecracked]

Betting on who would win. And my team lost is what happened. [She sets the crushed cup on the counter then proceeds to lick whatever jello ended up on her hand off.]

[invoking]

You were gambling? [ AFLSEJSEL KENZI ARE YOU ALICE... don't lick yourself. ]

[wisecracked]

Yeah. [Mustn't let precious jello and vodka go to waste!]

[invoking]

Well, I can't say you didn't know the risk...

[wisecracked]

I thought my team would win. [She whines as she turns actually starts cleaning. Extra chips going baggies, dishes in the sink, dip back in the fridge. Yup, she's cleaning.]

[invoking]

[ At that moment he's almost certain he's dreaming.

Kenzi... cleaning.

After an astounded few seconds, he starts to follow her example and pick up dirty plates and put them in the sink. He pulls off the coat and neatly hangs it over a chair, rolling up his sleeves as he takes to the sink and looks for the sponge. ]

It's not so bad, is it?

[wisecracked]

[A couple more jello shots later (what? she took one every time she opened the fridge) the counter is cleaned off. And Kenzi is now definitely tipsy. Probably time to stop.]

Only...a couple. Hundred. [Her tone is pained as she says that.]

[invoking]

[ He's rinsing the dishes and getting the soap ready on the sponge but he notices her tone of voice and turns his head around. ]

That much?!

[wisecracked]

[She nods slowly as dramatically slumps against the counter. Sure it was mostly money she had saved up but she didn't expect to lose it.]

...Yeah.

[invoking]

[ With his hands wet, he's unable to catch her or try to lead her toward a chair to set down. He does try to gesture, however. ]

Why so much? Ah-- you should sit down.

[wisecracked]

[She's not moving, she's actually pretty stable where she is. If she had drunk more that'd be a different story.]

I got a little carried away, I guess.

[invoking]

It's a good thing we receive that same amount of money each week. [ From the Porter or whatever. She'll recover it in no time. ]

[wisecracked]

[And then there's her job and her sticky fingers for people's wallets.]

Yeah I guess.
