THE PIE HOLE

SUMMARY: This log is forever open to fraternize, socialize, and otherwise eat pie in Ned's restaurant. pumpkin with a twist ................... a surprisingly homey mixture of pumpkin carrot and orange zest in an almond crust
almond creme dream ................... slivered and crushed almonds in a cocoa custard
apple cinnamon ................. because the winter's only just begun
not-so-traditional key lime ................... some like it sweet, but this one's a little sour
even-less-so lemon meringue ............... how did he make this without cream, it's a mystery

Open, likely to turn into a food fight
The Pie Hole's menu just has too many great choices to resist, and Calvin ordered quite a few of them, which is why he's sitting there with a full stomach, a bunch of half-eaten pie in front of him, and sinister thoughts brewing in his little mind. The sweets filling him are making him restless, itching for some kind of mischief. This place is so quiet and peaceful right now. Maybe flinging some banana cream at a patron's head would liven things up...

"--hey!" she yelps, eyes going wide in surprise, and she turns quickly in the direction that the missile came from. It's not hard to spot the culprit. "What was that for?" She plants a hand on her hip as she says it - although it must be said that she doesn't really look all that angry, exactly.

Calvin points with life-or-death emphasis with one hand while the other slowly reaches for a piece of appleberry. Turn around, Minako. Please, please turn around for him.

She's pretty sure coming on strict and disapproving isn't going to do any good at all, so... instead, with exaggerated deliberation and no sign of alarm whatsoever, she turns and looks behind her. Calvin can have the freebie.
(Besides, it's the City. The day she smugly refuses to be fooled, there really will be a Skrull behind her.)

No sooner have the words left his mouth than the next pie has left his hand, headed to make the back of Minako's head a match for the side. As soon as the projectile is launched, Calvin dramatically hurls himself from his seat facefirst onto the floor, hopefully doing a good impression of someone just cruelly ambushed by their Skrull imposter. He wants to see just how far he can push this charade.

"...Stop that!" It was weak, but at least he said something... right? Even if he looked more like a deer caught in headlights than a concerned business owner.

"Come and make me!" It's a challenge and it's punctuated by a pumpkin pecan cup-pie headed straight for Ned's kisser.

"I don't want to have you removed, but..." Okay, no. No. That was it. He had to stand up for himself and his Pie Hole!!! Well. You know. Ned stomps over to Calvin's booth once more and puts his hands on his hips. He is glaring at you, Calvin. Can you feel it; can you feel his disappointment?
Ned swallows once and pulls the pie out of the boy's hand before he can throw it, shaking his head. "I think you've had enough."

"Aw, come on, Ned! I'm just playing around. Besides, I paid for the pie, so I ought to be able to do whatever I want with it. That's how capitalist democracy works!" Calvin is a true patriot when it comes to the 'instant gratification, no personal responsibility' parts of his country's culture.

Whether it was part of the joke or habit, well, you can decide for yourself. "My hair means a lot to me. What's the price for saving it from an ooey-gooey demise?"

she has heard of pie and seen pie on the television and in movies and her brother has sent her mouthwatering jpegs of delicious looking slices over instant messenger before, but that's nothing like actually getting to eat some for real! her monthly island food delivery budget had never allowed for anything like pie. the money she had was used to bring food to her home and things to keep the survival kits well stocked: pie was out of the question!
and here is an entire menu laid out before her. dedicated to pies, and other things she's never even heard of before. the entire restaurant smells so good she can hardly keep still in her seat. she inhales deeply and stares and - can't help drooling a little. it's a doggy dog world, after all.

This time they are all the color red. Clearly the superior color and how dare they decorate otherwise. Unaware of the holiday, she just stands there and waits for someone to accept her gracious donation. ]

Right... because of Saint Patrick's Day. I don't know a lot about it, but it's an Irish holiday originally, so that's the reason for all the green and clovers and things. If you don't like green, I can see how it'd be a bit much.
