[As promised Kenzi arrives at the restaurant a little before seven (like five before); which is a feat given how often she's usually late. Since it would be out of place at this restaurant she hasn't gone all out on the dress up and hasn't overdone it with some stylish hairdo, just simple large loose curls. Simple yet stylish.

After coming through the door she quickly locates Gil and makes an attempt to sneak up on him. Although if he had any sense he would have been keeping his eyes on the door.]

[Kenzi grimaces as well.] I'm so sorry, dude. We will have to hold a funeral for dignity after it's over.

That's not helping!

[wisecracked]

[She snickers softly.] It won't be so bad, I'm sure. Once it's over you gotta tell me about it, though.

[invoking]

I don't think there will be anything to talk about. Not with the Deputy Mayor around...

[ Ugh. ]

I can't believe he did that! Why did he give his winning bid away?

[wisecracked]

So, I still wanna know how it went.

[She smiles at him before eating a bit more of her food.] Maybe he thought you two would get on fine. [And by that she meant as an actual date and not just as friends...even though she knows better.]

[invoking]

He -- he -- that man...! [ His glows a deep red. No, he can't say it aloud. ]

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi lowers her fork with a piece of pork still skewered on it and raises a brow at Gil.] What?

[invoking]

He thought I -- I can't say it! [ AND HE'S ACTUALLY MAD ABOUT THAT. Eddie. ]

[wisecracked]

So you're saying my assumption as to what he assumed is right?

[invoking]

[ He exhales loudly, like he's bursting from underwater. ]

Mr. Nelson is a nice man but he's as old as Master Oscar! Older! Who even assumes such things?! We've spoken twice, the Deputy Mayor and I!

[wisecracked]

Age doesn't always matter. And um...well I can see why he'd assume something like that. Anyone who doesn't know you might. [She shrugs.]

[invoking]

W-WHAT?!

[ And suddenly everyone's heads have turned to see what the hell Gil is yelling about. ]

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi drops her fork and waves her hands at him to calm down.]

We've been over this, you don't come off like most men so it's not hard for someone to jump to the wrong conclusion about you. [Even she thought the same at first.]

[invoking]

T-That is hardly... hardly any reason to assume such -- such a thing!!

[ One of the waiters is making their way over to check on them. ]

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi waves her hands again.] Calm down, dude. I don't assume that about you and now I'm sure they don't either, so chill.

[invoking]

I am calm! [ He says while waving his own hands and the waiter leans back as one of those hands nearly gets his face. ] Oh! [ SHIT. He immediately shuts his mouth when he gets asked if everything is okay and he apologizes and nods. When he gets the waiter to go, he sinks in his seat, completely embarrassed. ]

Mr. Nelson seemed surprised...

[wisecracked]

[Kenzi remains mostly quiet and smiles until Gil has convinced the server that everything's fine. She only nods and offers a few words here and there.]

Surprised by what? That he was being handed over to you or that you're not...y'know?

[invoking]

It's rude to assume those things! [ He's also probably got awkward feelings about homosexuality in general. He picks up his fork and knife and starts cutting again. ] Merely because I'm not... cour-- seeing a woman.

[wisecracked]

So very rude. The rudest!

But I get how you feel. [Except she wouldn't feel so awkward about such assumptions. She'd just correct whoever and move on.] I'm sure there's plenty of people that think I like the ladies because of the way I talk about Bo. But that's not the case at all.

[invoking]

I don't know where the Deputy Mayor got such an idea. [ They never spoke about those things. In fact, their longest conversation was about HABIT. ]

[wisecracked]

[She shrugs.] Maybe it's the way you dress? Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with what you wear, I like it. It's stylish, but who knows.
