SUMMARY: Hiei makes a deal with Fakir and goes out to find the mysteriously missing Mytho! Alliteration.
FORMAT: Hooooow about some paragraph at least to start.

It was easy enough to feel out Mytho with the Jagan eye, Hiei found, since he had spent time around the boy before. Now it was just a matter of following the "signal" and taking him to Fakir. So he did so, dancing in and out of shadow as he moved quickly enough to be a blur to the sharpest of eyes.

"Then surely you must take some initiative and search for it."

"It's not here!" Mytho suddenly yelled, making the ducks in the pond scatter and fly away. He looked up, eyes huge and almost pained as he reached out after them. "No... come back...."

Hiei didn't flinch from his yell; rather, he took the opportunity to step closer to Mytho.

"Come," he repeated, calm as ever. "We'll look together."

Mytho didn't seem to even hear him, falling on his hands and knees, trembling. "Come back...Duck.. Tutu... come back...."

Hiei stifled a sigh. He found this sort of thing highly annoying, but he had agreed to do it and the pay wasn't shabby.

So he walked up to Mytho, hands visible, though he didn't speak again.

Mytho didn't respond, hair hiding his eyes.

"Mytho," he said aloud, offering Mytho a hand up.

The boy looked up, expression utterly helpless and lost.

"Take my hand." In this state, Hiei hoped that a simple command would do.

Mytho hesitated before very shakily reaching out.

Hiei grasped the offered hand firmly and pulled, intending to get Mytho on his feet again.

Once the boy stood, it would be obvious that he was several inches taller than Hiei.

Mytho didn't seem to really notice or care, just standing there, shaking slightly. Now that he was standing it was pretty clear he was not in good shape. His clothes were rumpled and slightly muddy, his hair a mess and the haunted expression could possibly even be explained away by the clear lack of sleep.

It was something of an indignity, but if Hiei had to lead Mytho to Fakir by the hand he would. He gave his hand a little tug, guidingly, and started walking without letting go.

Mytho didn't protest, half stumbling after, looking utterly lost.

After what felt to Hiei like a stupidly long walk, they finally came within sighting distance of the bakery that Fakir had given him directions to.

Mytho froze at the sight of it, hauling in his step.

Hiei stopped as well and gave Mytho's hand another gentle tug.

He refused to fail this close to his goal.

Mytho shook his head, pulling back, curling in to himself, breath suddenly coming quickly and unevenly.

"Come on," he said, patience in his tone once again.

Patience or no patience, Mytho was not budging. The haunted, crazed look was returning. "Fakir...."

"Yes, that is his name."

A slow, strange smile spread over Mytho's lips. "He'll die if he fights the Raven again... just like in the story... I wonder if that will make him happy...."

"I would expect a death in battle would make anyone happy."

Hiei was definitely not the ideal person for eliminating thoughts of death or battle.

"But he failed... He was supposed to protect me, but instead, he was torn apart without even getting near his enemy... isn't that funny...?"

"In a sense, I suppose."

Hiei allowed a beat to pass before he tugged on Mytho's hand again.

"He's waiting for you now."
