James prides himself on managing to get a date out of almost any scenario, so getting Selina over for dinner just because of an original talk of grenades is a win in his books. Even if they are just doing the 'friend' thing, which he can't say he's too worried about.

He's managed to be alone in his apartment for the evening, spending the last hour or so cleaning himself up and changing into smart casual attire, because even at home James likes to be well presented to the ladies.

And so when Selina arrives, he's ready to buzz her and open his door invitingly.

Prepping doesn't take long anyway, a few vegetables and whatever else, but he's glancing up at Selina between some fast slicing. "Actually, yes. Your hand. Down there." His eyes flick down to Bond Jnr for just a second before his attention is back on the veg. But he's smirking to show he's joking. Mostly.

Selina rolls her eyes, but doesn't leave the kitchen, instead leaning against the counter and sipping from her glass. Surprisingly, he seems to know what he's doing.

A man like him doesn't grown up alone without learning to be at least mildly self-sufficient when it comes to feeding himself. His cooking may not be top quality, but he knows what he likes. It's only a few minutes more before he's slinging the dressed salmon into the over to bake and leaving everything else for now. "Right. How about another episode of Sex and the City?"

"No, thank you." It's hard to repress a shudder at the thought of sitting through another hour of that drivel. But she manages. "Can't say I'm a fan."

"Glad to hear I've put you off that for life," he smirks in return, heading for the fridge and retrieving a beer, holding one out briefly towards Selina in offer. "Thankfully I haven't had to watch it since that last time either."

Selina drains her wineglass and accepts her beer. "You were the one who brought it up in the first place," she reminds him as she twists off the cap.

James breaks the top off on the edge of the kitchen marble counter before hopping up to sit on it. "Just a little joke, worry not. So, what have you been up to since then anyway, my dear?"

Selina pulls herself up on the counter as well. No point in looking up at him. "Mm, the usual." She took a sip of beer. Not her usual drink, most of the time. But not bad.

Bond buys the good stuff, obviously, even if he doesn't drink beer as often as some of his other choices. He drinks his from the bottle, several large swigs taken before he drinks, eyes locked on Selina. "The usual being?"

She shrugs a bit, taking another swallow. "Keeping an eye on things. Getting used to having a daughter." She smirks a bit. "Spending time with the boyfriend."

A slow smirk, gaze not wavering. "And what's he up to these days? Does he have a job? Do anything at all useful for society? Or does he tend to just grunt at passers-by and leave claw marks everywhere-- oh, I see why you like him now."

She frowned at him. "Saves the world on a regular basis. And what the hell do you do that's so useful, hmm?"

The smirk doesn't leave. He's got the reaction he wanted, the frown was enough. "Make you dinner. I'd say that's rather useful."

"Maybe I'm not hungry anymore." In truth, she's half-tempted to leave after that little bit of conversation.

"Oh, come now, it's just a bit of fun. He doesn't need you getting overly defensive on his behalf." James doesn't do a bad job of sounding mildly apologetic, even if the constant smirk doesn't quite match it. "Stay. I'll say no more on the subject."

"Maybe I'm defending my own taste," she replies, taking a long drink of beer. The truth is there's maybe about it. "Sorry if your ego has trouble dealing with it."

"My ego always has trouble dealing with you. But it's alright, I like the challenge," he states, almost forgetting his own beer until he notices Selina's and eventually swigs at his own. "Now, what else have you been up to that won't involve me insulting your boyfriend?"

She has to think for a moment. Things have been unusually quiet for her as of late. "Helping my leopard learn how to hunt now that he's got fangs and claws again. Following mob activity. Shopping." Selina shrugs. To her, it sounds rather boring.

Bond never finds much of what he does to be of great interest, but people seem to like making movies about it anyway. "How can you not assume that things going to end up eating your face off? I never could trust wild animals myself."

"I've always been good with cats. Of all sizes." Ramus isn't the first big feline she's shared space with. "And let's just say we've had an intermediary who could talk to both of us."

She takes another sip of beer. "He probably saved my life when Creed attacked me."

"Hn, well good for him. Seems he got rewarded for it too," he says without any real conviction, but no malice either. Bond just isn't much of an animal person, more so because he's never had the time for them.

Selina of course loves animals. Except dogs. Especially guard dogs. "He got his teeth and claws back before that," she comment. She looks up from her beer at James. "I think you'd like him."

"Ah. Perhaps. Whether he'd like me in return is another matter," he points out lightly, a smirk at the corner of his lips as he finishes off the rest of his beer quickly and hops off the counter. "How far is that warehouse of his from where you're staying? Don't have to travel too far, I hope."

Selina stays seated; she hasn't finished her beer yet. And is he really trying to pry locations out of her so obviously? "Far is a rather subjective thing," she answers, topping off the vague reply with another sip.

Sometime being obvious can throw people off. Besides, he's wouldn't expect her to fall for it even if he was subtle, so why bother with the effort? "How very informative."

He's just finishing off the vegetables and such while they talk, so excuse him if he's a little distracted.
